MelC & Geri Make Up

Sporty Spice Melanie C and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell have made up after over a year of rumored bitterness between the two. It happened on Friday night at the Music For Life Charity(Story). Mel C approached Geri a little bit before the show began and the girls chatted for 20 minutes. Melanie C told reporters afterward:

"Everyone thought there was going to be a cat fight, but there never was because there was never any animosity between us. We have spoken and we are still friends. We were very close before and there is no change. We didn't talk about work at all, we talked about boys and things."

Victoria On Parkinson

Victoria was interviewed on Friday by Michael Parkinson on BBC1. In the interview she said that the Spice Girls are not splitting up, although they're not rushing to finish the third album as they "don't have anything to prove anymore". She said "the album is half finished now and it will be out when its out". She also said that husband David Beckham doesn't really wear her underwear, that it was a big joke. She said that she will be doing a solo album, but also wants to do acting, but is waiting for the right script. And of course she talked about her weight(Story).

Emma Knocks Look At Me

Recently in North London a panel of "experts" discussed which five promotional videos, out of the hundreds that were made last year, are to go forward as the nominations for the Best British Video category of the Brit Awards. Emma was on the panel. She commented on some videos, and when former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell's video for "Look At Me" came up Emma said:

"I couldn't watch it. She tried to break up a great group and I just couldn't sit through this."

SG Get Lifetime Achievement Award

The Brit Awards 2000! Yes, it's that time of year again, well not quite, they have moved back the Brit awards this year to March 3rd, but preperations are under way. The great news is that the Spice Girls will be given the lifetime achievement award this year! The girls were honored and thrilled when they learned the news this afternoon. British Phonographic Industry Chairman Rob Dickins said:

"The Spice Girls have smashed most world-wide record books in their own way much as the Beatles did in the 60s."

Spice Girls have released a statement:

"We are overjoyed to have been asked to accept this award. We are still young and have, we hope, many more years to enjoy being part of the great British music scene. Spice Girls started out as five and we feel this award is in recognition of the great achievements of all five."

Both the Spice Girls and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell will be performing at the award show. But the girls were unable to say whether former singer Geri Halliwell would join them to receive the honour. A spokeswoman for the group was asked if Geri would accept the award with them. She said:

"Nobody knows yet, nobody has had that discussion yet. The Girls only found out this afternoon."

Should be interesting to see how things turn out here..

MelC Site Redesigned

The Official Melanie C Homepage has been redesigned, go check it out. In the news section, Mel posted an update on herself talking about her plans for her next single and revealing that there will be a fourth single yet to come. Here it is:

I really hope you had a brill holiday. I know I did ! I just wanted to let you in on what I am up to. I am on holiday at the moment to charge up my batteries after the best year ever. Although having said that I am still going down to the American Music Awards to present an award on the 17th January (you know me I love to keep busy !)

UK News
Anyway back in Britain , the new single from my album Northern Star is coming out on the 6th March. I am so thrilled with the success of the album that I will even be releasing a fourth single later in the year. Anyway about the next single! It is going to be called "Never Be The Same Again" and I wrote the track with the incredibly talented pair, Rhett Lawrence and Paul F Cruz. Also because Rhett had previously worked with TLCs Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes we asked her to do a solo rap section which is totally fab.

There will be 2 cds for the single. On the first one there is a radio version of "Never Be The Same Again" and a mix from Lisa. Also if you whop the cd in your computer and you can play the video from it. (I'll tell you more about that in a minute). Finally there is a Rick Rubin mix of a totally brand new track "I Wonder What It Would Be Like", which I am really excited about.

On the second single you get the full album version of "Never Be The Same Again" as well as 2 live tracks. I played the Paradiso Club last year and because it was so much fun we have used "Closer" and "Goin Down" from there.

Melanie C just recently performed at the Music For Life Charity(Story). Neither she or former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell who was also there made mention of each other. Melanie performed "Northern Star" and "Never Be The Same Again".

MelC Feels The Criticism

In an interview with Melanie C this morning on BBC Radio 1, Melanie was asked about how she takes all the criticism critics have given her on her solo work. She admitted that she did get a bit depressed about it, but says she got over it. Melanie said:

"I was very naive when I realised the album. The thing is the Spice Girls is half of me, whereas my solo material is the whole of me. I wasn't prepared for all the criticism I got and I took it very badly. But people can think what they want. The thing is, other people's opinions have got nothing to do with you, because you are the only one that really knows yourself."

Victoria Saw Doctor About Weight

In her interview tomorrow with Michael Parkinson, Victoria discloses that she went to doctors after being affraid that she was losing too much weight. Victoria says in the interview:

"It did worry me. I did go to the doctors, it worried me because I started to get paranoid so I went to the doctors and said 'look, is there anything wrong with me?'. I wanted to be totally checked out because I was eating perfectly fine, exactly as I always have done, and I was losing weight. They just said it's just something that happens when you have children. My mum lost three stone after she had my brother, so it's hereditary. I think that I could probably do with putting on weight, but I just eat what I eat and this is the way I am. We were out at dinner the other day and I was absolutely bursting for the toilet and it's quite sad to think you can't even go to the toilet because if you do, people are going to think you're throwing up. What really freaked me out about the whole weight issue wasn't actually the weight issue in the end, it was the fact that in the past if I'd been in the press I'd been with the Spice Girls or with David and for the first time it was just me. I was completely singled out and I think it was the whole attention, just the fact that people were that interested in me, that kind of freaked me out more than anything really."

The interview will air today on BBC1 at 9.30pm.

Parkinson Reminder

Just a reminder that tomorrow(Friday) night Victoria will be interviewed by Michael Parkinson. This is set to be an interview where no topic is off limits. Not sure which channel it is on... Victoria's fasion advisor Brenda Gowan says:

"She's wearing a beautiful outfit on the Parkinson show. It's an all-cream short skirt and jacket. She's just been on holiday so at the moment she looks really tanned and healthy. Cream is the colour of the season and a great opportunity for her to show off her skin colour. She looks great in it."

MelC Battles Homelessness

Melanie C has decided to become a sort of ambassador to the homeless. She will donate all proceeds from her upcoming single "Never Be The Same Again/If That Were Me" will be donated to the homeless. Melanie said:

"Because of the success I have had with The Spice Girls, I now have a lot of money, more than I ever thought I'd have in my life. I've got a really beautiful flat. Sometimes I just sit there and think, 'God, I live in the most beautiful place and some people don't even have a roof over their head'. That's what the song If That Were Me is about. My first contribution is in writing this song and I will give the proceeds to charity. That's just the beginning. I want to take an active role in helping homeless people. It's something I feel very strongly about. The great thing about being a celebrity is that you can draw people's attention to issues like this. You could say I'm on my soapbox about homelessness."

Keys To Clacton

Clacton City Council was so honored and impressed that Baby Spice Emma Bunton named the town her favourite seaside resort in the world(Story) that they have given her the keys to the town. Local residents are so delighted by Emma Bunton's comments that they have written her a personal letter of thanks and are planning a meeting to vote on whether she should be presented with the freedom of the town.

Melanie C will make a special guest appearance on this week's episode of ABC's(US) television show Norm. Norm and his date run into Melanie C at the "American Rock 'n Roll Music Awards." The show airs tomorrow(Wednesday) at 8.30pm.

Baby Spice Emma Bunton recently did a short interview with OK! Magazine(UK). In the interview she tells OK! that out of all the extraordinary places she's been in the world, her favorite holiday spot is Clacton-on-Sea in England. Emma says:

"Even though I've been lucky enough to travel the world, I can honestly say that one of my favourite holidays was when we used to go away to Clacton-on-Sea in our caravan. I really had the best time. It's always the simple things that make me happy."

Spice Girls Cyberconcerts

The Spice Girls have signed an exclusive three-year deal to perform a series of shows online for subscribers at Cyberconcerts. One London newspaper worked out that if 10 million people paid £10 each to watch Sporty, Scary, Baby and Posh strut their stuff, £100 million would be made from one concert. Even if the Spices took just half that cash they'd end up with £12.5 million each, not bad for one night's work. Cyberconcerts is run by ex-Pink Floyd manger Mark Morrison and TV producer Mike Mansfield. Mike Mansfield said:

"We have to sit down with the Spice Girls and work out where we will do our first show with them, but it won't be until 2001."

Noel On Knickers

Oasis band member Noel Gallagher commented recently on what he thought of Victoria saying that David wears her underwear sometimes. Noel said:

"I feel sorry for Becks. He must come home and shut the door and say to Victoria, 'What the fuck did you say today'. He obviously doesn't wear her knickers and he's got to face all the team in the changing rooms when they've put g-strings all over his locker."

The Spice Girls have made official updates on the Official Spice Girls Homepage in the news section. Here is the update:

Melanie G: Ay up, ahhhhh great to have a break. But it's back to BUSY BUSY BUSY. I'll have my solo album out early this summer but we haven't decided on a title yet. We will also be putting out a single but I can't even tell you what that will be at the moment (I know- sorry!). What I can tell ya though is I that I have been in the studio with the likes of JAM & LEWIS who has worked with: Janet Jackson, Boyz II Men AND Mary J. Blige), TEDDY RILEY (from Blackstreet) , and SISQO (from Dru Hill). Yep you can probably guess from that little lot that the album is going to have a RnB flava to it. It will have and sounds absolutely wicked. Not to mention the new Spice single...

Victoria: I hoped you enjoy watching the "Secrets Show" . I am really pleased with how it went down. I don't mind admitting I was really nervous before hand! Over 5 million people tuned in which should make Channel 4 happy! I have been since flooded with offers for TV and film which is really flattering but I really want to take my time before committing myself. That's all from me right now. Em?

Emma: I am really enjoying the VH1 shows and have been getting loads of offers too but I'm incredibly excited about the new Spice album that we are working on! It is already sounding fantastic! Also "What I Am" has only just come out in the rest of Europe so I will be smooching around playing a few TV shows. We have been talking about the album but I can't really say anything at the moment. The Show from before Christmas will be out later this year but only be out on DVD (that's a posh video between you and me!).

Melanie C: It's all go again with the new single coming out. It's called "Never Be the Same Again" and will be out at the start of March. TLCs Lisa Lopes does a sound rap on it. What's more there's a new track on there also called "I Wonder What It Would Be Like". I will be touring again later as the first one went down so well. Byeeeeeeeeeeee. Then of course there is the next Spice album which we have nearly finished. We may well tour later in the year when we release it. Phew!

Mel C @ Music For Life

Melanie C will be performing at the Music For Life concert which is a charity concert for the Christie's Against Cancer Appeal. Former Spice Girl and now solo artist Geri Halliwell will also be performing at the show. Other artists performing will be Tin Tin Out, Five, Billie, and Honeyz. The British media is once again setting up another Geri vs. Mel C competition out of this. The two will not be on stage together. A spokeswoman for Christie Hospital said:

"Geri is going to close the concert and Sporty is opening it."

A reminder that Melanie C will be on VH1's(US) The List tonight. This particular episode of it will be LIVE at 11pm East Coast, 8pm West Coast! Other guests with Melanie will be Alice Cooper, Kelsey Grammar, and Kirstie Alley. The show will be hosted by Meat Loaf.

They also have a thing on the show's web page where you can vote for greatest song of all time. Oddly enough I don't see Spice Girls on there(how could this be!?!?). Well there aren't any modern artists on there, but go ahead on over there and put in lets say "Wannabe"(since it was the girls' most popular worldwide song) in the field where you can specify a song! hehe.

MelC AMA Quote

In a quick interview with Melanie C at the AMA's, when asked what the solo and Spice Girls plans are for the year Mel said:

"This year I'm gonna be devoting all my attention to my solo record and so I'm gonna do it justice. I'm gonna be out on the road touring Eurpoe, South East Asia, and the beautiful United States Of America!"

When asked about the Melanie G and Jimmy Gulzar split(Story), she said:

"All I know is Melanie's fine, the baby's fine, and it's all very happy and amicable. You know shit happens. That got me out of that one didn't it!" she laughed.

All attention to solo record... what about that third Spice Girls album? Perhaps the quote/question was slightly edited as often times happens.

If You Wanna Have Some Fun Clip

Spice Connection has posted a wav file clip of a really bad quality development version of "If You Wanna Have Some Fun". It has Jimmy Jam filling in some bits of the song(Probably before the Spices put that part in). It's from a local US news station that aired the clip and some others that were already posted a few months back. Here is a local copy of the wav file.

Quality sux, only a small bit of Spice Girls in it, but it gives an idea of the beat a little. It's better then nothing i guess.

Tyson Locks-Out MelG

Melanie G made a trip to the London Gucci store on Monday. She was however surprised that she had been locked out and wouldn't be let in. The reason is that Mike Tyson was in the store shopping, and it had been closed off to anyone else exclusively for him. Melanie tried to go in but was turned away by one of Tyson's security guards. Melanie said to him "Don't you know who I am?" to which the bouncer just shrugged in reply. One onlooker said:

"Mel got the shock of her life when she realised that not even her fame was going to get her in the shop. You should have seen her face. She couldn't believe it had happened in front of so many people. She is obviously not used to being treated like that. I'm sure Mel would have liked to have met Tyson."

When asked for comment, the Gucci store said that Melanie is a regular customer and insisted they would have let her in if they'd known she was there.

MelC AMA Follow Up

Incase you missed it, Melanie C presented an award along with rap star DMX at the 27th annual American Music Awards on Monday night. Melanie wore a black skirt with a black leather spaghetti-strap tank top. The two took the award on behalf of TLC who won the catagory but were not present to accept the award.

Melanie G arrived back in London yesterday after vacationing at the Thai island of Phucket. In an attempt to divert attention, she had her younger sister Danielle dress like her and push a stroller with a baby doll in it. Perhaps Melanie thought people would think Danielle was actually her and she could slip out with Phoenix without being hounded by photographers. Apparently though she only brought attention to the scene by doing so, as there really weren't many people waiting for Melanie to arrive and she probably could have slipped through without being noticed. People however noticed the doll in Danielle's stroller. Who knows, maybe Melanie was just trying to play around with the media for fun. She is reported to be meeting with lawyers later this week to discuss her divorce.

Naomi's Mother Jumps In

Naomi Campbell's mother has hit back after Victoria called supermodel Naomi Campbell a massive cow and bitch on her chat show Victoria's Secrets.(Story) The whole row started when Victoria met Naomi at a New York party over a year ago and Naomi said to Victoria "Why exactly do they call you posh??" in apparently a sarcastic manner, or at least it was taken that way by Victoria. Now Naomi's mother has said after watching Victoria's Secrets:

"On the one occasion when they did meet Naomi asked Victoria, 'Why do they call you Posh?' Clearly Victoria took offence, but Naomi was saying to me after the show that whether it had been Scary, Baby or Sporty she would have asked the same thing. Naomi just wanted to know how they chose their names. Naomi didn't mean it in an offensive way. I know Victoria was offended and I also think she is jealous. In my view, Victoria can't sing and can't dance. She should go on her bended knees and thank the good God above for letting her make some money - because the girl is talentless. I mean, she's the only one not to have the guts to do solo stuff because she knows she is crap. Naomi isn't bothered by Victoria's remarks and will not be taking any legal action. Victoria is a major league attention-seeker. She might think she is posh but anyone with any class wouldn't be making comments about her man wearing her undies. The Queen of England wouldn't turn around and say that. It isn't posh. I feel sorry for David Beckham - a footballer is supposed to be macho. Everyone is now taking the mickey out of him. Victoria doesn't know when to shut her gob. She is stupid and thick. I sat there watching this show and I simply couldn't believe what I was seeing or hearing. If anyone is a bitch it has to be Victoria - she even humiliated her own poor husband. Look how Victoria slags off Geri...she's the bitch and everyone should know it."

Posh Offers

Television executives are quite impressed with the success of Victoria Beckham's recent Channel 4 show Victoria's Secrets(Story). Victoria has again been made an offer from Channel 4 to co-host Big Breakfast. She turned down the previous offer citing that she would not be able to get up early enough to do the show for a week. The station has now offered her £20,000 for filling in for a week however! If she took the offer Victoria would be filling in while regular co-host Liza Tarbuck is on vacation.

Album 3 Pushed Back?

Classy Whore Saves Brooklyn

RUMOR WARNING

A 28 year old blonde £700/night hooker is allegedly responsible in helping foil the £1 million plot to kidnap Victoria's son Brooklyn(Story). The whore risked her life by tipping off detectives about one of her clients after she heard him plotting to steal Brooklyn with members of his gang on his mobile phone between sex sessions with her. The hooker was found by London newspaper The Sunday People through underworld contacts. The hooker told the newspaper about the client who was a regular of hers. He saw action with the SAS in the Gulf War and boasted to her that his deeds are referred to in Andy McNab's best-selling book Bravo Two Zero. After leaving the Army he set up in business as a security expert and bounty hunter who specialises in tracking down tug-of-love children and reuniting them with their mothers. The hooker is reported to have been contacted that there is a £5000 contract to murder her. The hooker said:

"I am scared out of my wits but I know I did the right thing. I couldn't just stand by and let that lovely little boy be kidnapped. I have three kids of my own and I had to let the police know."

She tells of how she over heard the 35-year old ringleader talking about the plot:

"He took me back to a derelict house in Hampstead, North London, and he paid me for sex. Afterwards, he took a call on his mobile phone. He got up and walked into the next room, but I could still hear what he was saying. I wasn't paying any attention to what was being said until I overheard him saying something about David Beckham. I started listening and I heard him saying they were going to snatch baby Brooklyn with Victoria from a hotel car park. The SAS guy was saying that Beckham would be playing football at the time. He said 'Don't worry, he's not going to be around'. The person he was talking to must have been asking about what security people might be with Victoria and he replied that it would be all right, he had sorted it. I just froze. It was clear they were talking about kidnapping baby Brooklyn. The SAS man said it would be dark and they would snatch them in the hotel car park. He said there would be two guys to take them away. The other guy must have asked where, because he then told him he was going to hold them at the house we were in. I couldn't believe my ears. I immediately knew I had to do something. I felt sickened that I had been with this guy several times and had sex. I thought about my own three children and then I thought about the Beckhams. I am not a Spice Girls fan but I think Victoria and David are a nice couple. I knew I couldn't allow this guy to take their baby and hold him in this filthy house. I found a business card and took it. I was searching his pockets and his wallet and I could hear him talking just a few yards away. I was terrified because he could have come back into the room at any second and found me with his jacket. He would have given me a good hiding. He is not a huge guy and he might look quite normal but I know he is hard as nails."

The hooker then went to police and gave them the business card which had two phone number written on the back. She said:

"They took the information seriously. They could tell I was upset by what I had heard. I wouldn't normally tell the police a thing but as a mother I felt I had no choice. I just couldn't get it out of my mind. It was all so horrible. I only spoke to the police on condition that I wasn't going to be involved."

But the vital information on the business card enabled the Yard's elite SO1 organised crime group to mount an undercover operation. A team staked out the derelict house in The Bishops Avenue, Hampstead. Another squad was assigned to keep watch on the couple's £2.5 million mansion in Hertfordshire. Police also guarded the £25 million couple's luxury home in Alderley Edge, Cheshire. As the planned date of the kidnap - the England-Scotland Euro 2000 qualifier at Wembley last November - drew closer, Victoria and David were moved to a safe house in the country for 48 hours. Victoria's parents were also advised to move out of their home in Goff's Oak, Herts. But it is believed the three-man gang - including an ex-policeman - somehow got wind of the fact that their plot had been discovered and they called it off. Police took no further action because there were no maps, pictures or evidence to bring a conspiracy charge.

Posh Spice Victoria Adams was offered a part in a Hollywood blockbuster last month and was at first very interested in the role. At one point in the movie the script calls for her to strip off for a sex scene with a hunky actor. She knew husband David wouldn't like the idea and when he read the script he told her he didn't want her to do it, so she turned down the offer. She is still trying to get a leading role in the sequel to The Mask.

Never Be The Same Again Single

"Never Be The Same Again" will be Melanie C's first US single! It will be released some time next month. Melanie will be shooting the video for the song with Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopez from TLC next week. Melanie says that she is getting along well now with Left-Eye.

Rockin' With Rodney

Apparently the third Spice Girls album is not in the post production stage that we might have thought it was. Producer Rodney Jerkins was interviewed by LAUNCH recently and this is what he had to say about the the third album:

"I'm doing nine songs on the album, executive producing the album. I'm due to work back with them at the end of this month, so hopefully it will come out and we'll win Grammy's next year for that one. I want to do a rock song with them. You know, when I think of the Spice Girls, I think of them as entertainers and performers, so I'm going to try to make songs that I know they can perform to and do live and see people go crazy to, and all that kind of stuff. I'm trying to mix it up. Basically, I'm giving them a new sound, but at the same time I'm attempting to do something different myself, which is do what they do but add my flavor to it. It's like a mixture of what I do and what they do, and bringin' it home, you know?"

On her show Victoria's Secrets, Victoria was asked by one of her interviewees what she thought of former bandmate Geri Halliwell's rally to #1 with her single "Lift Me Up" and the drama with Chris Evans and similar publicity stunts Geri just happened to be pulling that week. Victoria said:

"I wouldn't go to The Sun dressed as a schoolgirl with my boobs out and talk about my relationship."

Victoria's Secrets Successful

Victoria's interview chat show Victoria's Secrets which aired Tuesday night attracted 4.2 million viewers, twice the station's normal rate. At one point 5.3 million people were watching the show. Dominic Mohan, one of the people interviewed by Victoria told of how his interview went:

"When Posh Spice interviewed me for her Channel 4 show Victoria's Secrets I let her choose the venue. She didn't plump for a castle, swish restaurant or hotel, but a local bar near The Sun's Wapping HQ. She breezed in without any security, sat in the corner and sipped a glass of cheap white wine - mixed with lemonade of all things. After a couple of glasses, she even admitted she felt a bit light-headed and quizzed me about my baby boy, what I thought about Steps and whether I really picked up the phone and said: 'Showbiz?' (I'm sorry to say that I do). It was like being down the pub with one of my mates, relaxed and no tension, and she wasn't doing it for effect."

Third MelC Single

Melanie C was recently on Much Music's show Rapid Fax for a quick interview in which she said that "Never Be The Same Again" is the next single off her album Northern Star, along with "Go!" for a double-A side. She also said that if Left-Eye from TLC refuses to let "Never Be The Same Again" be released(see "Left Eye Has Negative Words"), she'll either take Left-Eye's vocals off, or change the single to "If That Were Me".

The Return Of Ice Spice

Melanie G has turned to her former boyfriend Icelandic hunk Fjolnir Thorgeirsson(Story) for help as she tries to cope with her marriage breakup with Jimmy Gulzar. Melanie has wept on the phone to him speaking about how she wanted the marriage to work. Fjolnir said:

"Yes, she has been on the phone a lot to me wanting to talk things through. All I am doing is being a good friend and offering her a shoulder to cry on. I am here always for her at any hour. It's very sad because there is a child in this marriage but I know how much both of them love that child and will always do their best for her. But the pressures of fame creates a lot of problems. I know because those things had a big affect on our relationship. We were spending far too much time apart. Plot To Kidnap Brooklyn

A plot to kidnap Victoria's baby Brooklyn and possibly Victoria herself to hold them for a ransom was foiled in an undercover police operation. Over a two month period an underworld crime figure planned to kidnap Brooklyn and possibly Victoria. A threat to the Beckhams was received at a designer clothes shop in Manchester owned by a friend of the couple in August. The couple contacted police which then tapped the shop's phone lines and told the Beckhams to step up security. The Beckhams hired two body guards for baby Brooklyn. Several weeks later police were told by underworld informants that the threat could be real. The police then got deeply involved and a squad was set up to deal with the threat after a known criminal had been boasting of the plot. Information gathered suggested that the kidnappers planned to hold Brooklyn and possibly Victoria ransom in Hampstead, North London. A surveillance operation was put into effect and at finally at one point the Beckhams were moved into a safe unknown house by police. Victoria's family was also moved from their home. The situation now seems to be resolved. The Beckhams have installed panic buttons in their house incase of any other problems.

Posh Breast Lift?

It is reported that Victoria Beckham gave nature a helping hand by getting herself a £10,000 breast lift. Most mothers lose weight from their breasts after giving birth and Victoria wanted to retain her bust. Sources say that Victoria had been planing the surgury for several months. She finally had it done on September 4th of this past year at The Heath Clinic in West London.

Naomi Campbell: Massive Cow

Posh Spice Victoria Beckham is set to raise eyebrows when her new interview show Victoria's Secrets airs. In a segment just before she talks to international designer Valentino, she says:

"I'm going to see if Naomi Campbell really is a complete bitch, because every time I have met her she has been a complete bitch. She is a massive cow."

Melanie G has checked out of the Amanpuri hotel which she was staying at in Phuket due to too much paparazzi and media hounding her at the hotel after finding out that she was staying there. It is unknown if Melanie is leaving to another city or just to another hotel.

Parkinson Interview

Victoria has granted permission to be interviewed by UK chat-show king Michael Parkinson. This will be a lengthy interview and Victoria has promised no topic will be off limits. The TV exclusive is to be filmed on January 27 in London and screened the following evening.

Melanie G who just left her husband(Story) is now in tropical paradise Phuket, Thailand. She took a connecting flight from London to Singapore, then to Phuket. Melanie was originally supposed to go on this trip with Jimmy before they split. Instead she took along her younger sister Danielle and Baby Phoenix Chi. Melanie's spokeswoman said:

"They've tried very, very hard over the last couple of months. Jimmy was there over the whole Spice tour. They were originally going to go over to Thailand to have a holiday and get away from it all, because they've had a pretty hectic year, but they decided not to in the end."

Victoria Big Breakfast

Posh Spice Victoria Beckham was on Channel 4's(UK) Big Breakfast show this morning. In the interview she revealed that if she had lost her fame and fortune she would be a check-out girl dreaming of winning the lottery. When asked what she would do if she lost her fame and fortune Victoria said:

"I really don't know. I would probably start playing the Lottery. And I would work in Marks & Spencer because I like the 'beep beep'. I had a go on one the other day. I went in and said 'I'm sorry, but I really like it.'"

Victoria also said that she and husband David watch tapes of the British comedy Only Fools And Horses every night. She also said that David borrows and wears her thong underwear occasionally.

What Jimmy Wants

Melanie G has left her husband Jimmy Gulzar. The couple spent Christmas together and tried to save their marriage but the holidays just ended up in a series of arguments between the two of them. They had a furious argument on New Year's Eve and tried to talk it out one last time the next day but it also ended in argument. Melanie finally told Jimmy that the marriage is over and left their £2.5 million mansion with 10 month old daughter Phoenix Chi to her mother's home in Leeds. Melanie ordered Jimmy to pack and leave while she was gone. The couple's rocky marriage lasted 16 months. Melanie told The Sun Newspaper(UK) last night:

"It's very sad. We’ve really tried to make a go of this but it just didn’t work."

Melanie's publicist said:

"Mel and Jimmy have confirmed that they are to separate. The couple have arrived at this conclusion after a considerable amount of discussion and attempts to make the relationship work."

Victoria Solo Update

Victoria was recently interviewed by BBC Radio 1 and asked about Geri Halliwell as well as her solo music career. Victoria said:

"I'd be lying if I said I was a big big fan of her music because I'm not. And I think that as a band it didn t effect us, at all. I mean, we lost a friend but I think that we're going from strength to strength as a band. I'm gonna carry on working on my own album next year. I've got a few tracks that I've been working on. But I'm just not in any rush. I don't feel like I have anything to prove if you like. I'm writing, I'm taking my time. I'm being a mum and a wife, and that s what really matters. So it'll be out when it s out."

British television chart show CD:UK reported this morning that the new Spice Girls album will be entitled Spice 2000 and will be released in May.

The Spice Girls ballad "Goodbye" came in #51 of MTV's(US) Top 99 Videos of 1999, which is a bit weird/compliment since the video is a 1998 video.
