During a filming of "What I Am" for the Pepsi Chart on Channel 5 at the trendy Sound Republic, Emma Bunton got into a drinking contest with the rest of Tin Tin Out! When Emma arrived, Tin Tin Out decided to see if they could get her drunk. The band thought they would have Emma out under the table soon, but they were wrong. Emma actually got down to a drink for drink contest with bongo player Preston. Preston lost, he finally had to call "Time!" Preston said:

"We wanted to see how she would be if she was just a little bit drunk, but she drank me under the table."

Emma said:

"The boys were drunk before it felt like I'd even got started. They're lightweights. My dog could drink more than them."

Left-Eye Has Negative Words

In the latest issue of Jet magazine, Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopez has some negative words about her work with Melanie C. Left-Eye raps on Mel's track "Never Be The Same Again" and did a photo shoot with her as well. These negative comments are a bit of a surprise as Melanie had nothing but nice words about working with Left-Eye. Left-Eye said:

"At first I didn't want to do it, the Spice Girls brought girl groups back, but TLC invented them, and if it wasn't for us I strongly doubt the Spice Girls would be around."

This first set of comments is very similar to ones that her fellow TLC member T-Boz made previously(Story). Left-Eye was then asked what she got in return for working with Melanie C, her reply is:

"Well, I don't really want to say, because it will make Melanie sound desperate to snatch me up, but a very high sum of cash was involved."

What about the rumors TLC will be teaming up with the Spice Girls in the near future?(Story) Left-Eye says:

"Not true as far as I'm concerned, but I would really enjoy working with Geri Halliwell, I love her solo stuff, although I liked her hair better when she was Ginger!"

And the pictures Lisa did with Melanie C for a UK photo shoot, how does Left-Eye feel about them?

"Odd. I thought her idea sounded really skanky at first, but I thought about it for a little while, and I decided I would go for it. The newspaper wearing was Melanie's idea, I hated it, but Melanie insisted."

Once again, like I've said before when T-Boz made her comments: What a bunch of bullshit!

Rodney Jerkins Comments On Album 3

Rodney Jerkins who produced three songs with the Spice Girls that will appear on their next album commented about his work with them and their third album which he says should show up in the second quarter of next year. He also hints that the new album has a different sound to it then the previous two. Here is what Rodney said:

"I did three songs with them, and everybody I've been playing them for can't believe it's the Spice Girls. I like to create for the artist on the spot. I knew I had to do the Spice Girls 10 months beforehand, but I didn't write one single lyric or do one track until I got to London. We started working on the songs the day I met them, because I wanted to get a vibe from them. We did the three songs in five days."

Melanie C On Internet Rumors

Melanie C talked to LAUNCH recently about the Internet! She talked about it's advantages and it's disadvantages. Melanie said:

I think it's great. I think the Internet, it can be fabulous, but of course it's got its bad points, too. Especially for stuff like that, getting stuff out to the fans, music and videos, I think it's great. But I think the shame about the Internet is that because there are so many like rumors and lies that circulate in Britain, sometimes fans are getting misinformation and sometimes it's a bit of a worry and a little bit frustrating, too. But I think, overall, it's a great thing."

Melanie was asked if the rumors and lies she reads online hurt her on a personal level:

"It does and it doesn't. It can be frustrating, as I say, but you know, it wastes a lot of time and a lot of energy. With our fans, you know a lot of the Spice Girls' fans are quite young, and a lot of the rumors are on the Internet, rumors about the band breaking up and stuff, which are completely untrue. You know, we've never considered breaking up as a band. We're very happy, we're very strong, we're writing our third album at the moment. A lot of our fans are distressed by hearing things like this and it just comes from thoughtless rumors in the press, and then it's worldwide. You've got an interview, a chance to tell everybody about your material, and you spend half the interview just questioning all these rumors that aren't true."

Which is why here at SpiceNews.com, rumors are instantly stamped with a big fat RUMOR WARNING right smack across their forehead. Stories with rumor warnings should be looked upon as very skeptical. The point at this site is to report all news, and the in the most accurate manner possible! BTW, I don't know if Melanie actually checks up on Spice Internet sites herself, and doubt it because of her crazy busy schedule, but if she does, HI MEL!!! EMAIL ME! hehehe

Solo Victoria?

In the latest issue of Smash Hits magazine, Melanie C told the magazine that Victoria is working on solo material and plans to do a solo album! Victoria is working with Elliot Kennedy(who has worked with Spice Girls many times). Right now it is mostly just writing. Leave Manchester United

RUMOR WARNING

Victoria is once again pressuring her husband David Beckham to leave his Manchester United football(soccer) team. She has apparently given David an ultimatun: Quit Manchester or else. Victoria is fed up with David being up in Manchester and wants him to move to the south so he can spend more time with her and baby Brooklyn. She told David that life in London is crucial for their long term relationship for her as a Spice Girl, and as an alternative career for David as a fasion icon. She has even suggested that he sign with London football team "Arsenal", Manchester United's deadliest rivals in the capital. Their training ground is just a short drive from Victoria's mother's home in Hertfordshire. A family insider said:

"This is a real crisis for David, and for Man United. Victoria is determined they must live in London. She will not take no for an answer and is pressuring him constantly over the move. Something will have to give soon. And it won't be Victoria."

Both Victoria Beckham and Melanie C are featured in this week's issue of People magazine(US). Victoria is one of a few celebrities on the cover. The cover story is about celebrities being too thin. Inside the magazine there is a one page article about Melanie C with two new pictures. Melanie was once again asked about Geri Halliwell and once again responded:

"I think Geri's album is pretty good. But I never thought she was a strong vocalist, and that's the honest truth. I hated the first single [Look At Me]. I thought it was awful. There are still days when I feel sad and I miss Geri, but on other days I couldn't care less."

Why Fuller Was Sacked

In her upcoming autobiography, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell discloses that it was herself and Melanie G who plotted the sacking of their former manager Simon Fuller. Geri says the reason for getting rid of him was because of their relentless, and often times ridiculous schedule that he had invoked upon them. This schedule included a lot of advertising for products and such. Geri says that their schedule of these types of events without break was leading to depression within the group. Halliwell even admits that she wrote a list of reasons why the Spice Girls should get rid of Simon which included "putting the spirit back in the group" and "proving to the world we are not a manufactured band."

MOBO Wrap-Up

Well, the MOBO awards took place last night, hosted by Melanie G and Wyclef Jean. In a surprise appearance, Victoria & David Beckham presented an award. Emma arrived at the show along with Melanie G's younger sister Danielle. The two seem to be very good friends lately. Here are some pictures, none of Mel G ironically enough!

Although most of the award show went well, the after party turned to chaos as fights broke out. Men were throwing punches back and forth as tables got knocked over and bottles went flying through the air. The fight allegedly started when someone tried to grab jewellery from American soul singer D'Angelo and bouncers waded in. Emma Bunton and others were forced to run for cover as their tables were consumed in the big fight. CS Gas was sprayed in the stairwells so people could not leave and by the end of the situation many police officers had arrived on the scene.

Thanks to Linda Parham for the pics.

Melanie C was asked about the third Spice Girls album just before she left Toronto. She said that there most likely will not be a single out before the end of this year due to the girls' individual busy schedules. Mel also said that the recording has been happening in two week bunches, and is not finished yet. She also revealed that they are working again with producer Elliot Kennedy, who worked on the first Spice Girls album, along with the rest of their all star production team.

Nice David

There is an interview in the November issue of GQ Magazine with Victoria Beckham. In the interview Victoria speaks about how kind and lovely her husband David is saying:

"He makes me a packed lunch every day before he goes to training. Then he fills up my car with petrol. He is really unbelievably kind. And it's sickening, but he looks exactly the same when he wakes up as he does when he's on the front of a magazine."

Victoria jokingly added: In a year he'll probably be lying in bed going: 'Sod off, make your own lunch.'

She then talks about how she threatened to kick Chelsea hardman Dennis Wise if he ever hurt David on the pitch:

"We were at this wedding and sat with Dennis and his girlfriend and I said: 'Dennis, are you a bully when you play?' He said: 'I can be.' I said: 'If you ever kick my husband I will come and kick you.' And I would."

Brooklyn Doesn't Like Football

Baby Brooklyn is reduced to tears when watching father David Beckham play football(soccer), because he is frightened by the noise of the crowd. Victoria said:

"I do take Brooklyn to football but he gets upset because of all the shouting and cheering. It's quite intimidating for me let alone a baby. We had to leave our seat the other day because he got all tearful, but I'm sure he'll get into it when he's older. They look after me when I'm there, so there's always room for us to go during the match."

Victoria Speaks About Lena

Former child star Lena Zavaroni died after undergoing a brain operation in a final effort to beat anorexia. Lena was almost dead from being weakened in her 22 year war against the disease and the surgury was a final effort to help her. Victoria Beckham, who herself ironically has recently been accused of anorexia spoke on the topic. Victoria said:

"People think that when you become famous you get rid of your problems but in some cases it can be the very start of them. The pressures of fame are what destroyed Lena in the end. It is horrible to think what this disease has done to Lena. I just feel so sad for all her family and friends."

Nervous Mel

Melanie C spoke to MTV News a day before her New York concert about just how nervous she gets. Mel said:

"Whatever I'm doing, no matter if I'm performing or whether I've got an interview, I always get nervous, but to what degree? It differs. With the girls, the girls take the Mickey out of me, actually, because I do get so nervous. They think it's quite funny. I go all quiet, and I have to sit in a corner and get all calm, but on my own it's double. Sometimes I think I'm going to get adrenaline poisoning because I can feel it pumping through my veins, and I know Friday night's going to be no different, Chisholm said. In fact, Friday night's going to be huge, because America... I don't know, there's just something about America. It excites me so much and I love spending time here and to be accepted here is really important to me. So on Friday night, I'm going to be on the toilet every five minutes."

MTV News also reported that Melanie plans to return to the US in February 2000 for a full-blown solo tour. I wouldn't accept the accuracy of this fully yet as it is possible that MTV has their info wrong. aka it didn't come out of Mel's mouth.

Victoria Is Not That Serious

RUMOR WARNING

Victoria has read through ten scripts for movies that have been offered to her, but she has turned them all down because the roles are too serious. Victoria does not want to play the classy type of girl which she is in real life. Instead, she wants to be a funny slapstick character on film. An insider said:

"Victoria wants to have fun, have a bit of a laugh. A lot of the roles Victoria gets offered are elegant ones, just like her public image. But she really wants to do a comedy role, something really quirky. She wants to show people the funny, light-hearted side to her character."

RUMOR WARNING

Leave Manchester Said Posh

In the upcoming revealing book Forever Spice, by the Spice Girls, Victoria reveals that she indeed wanted David Beckham to leave the Manchester Untited football(soccer) team. She admits to heated arguments over the matter with him. Victoria wanted David to join a London team because London is where her family is. Victoria said:

"We had a bit of a dispute on the phone because he is re-signing his contract in Manchester. I was a little bit hurt because I was hoping deep down he would sign for a London club. I understand that is what he has to do, the same as he will understand when I do things with the girls."
