MelC UK Tour Tickets On Sale!

As promised, the official Melanie C website has just posted tour dates for Melanie C's UK tour which will be this September. The local Mel C Tour Dates page has been updated to reflect the new concerts. Tickets are on sale NOW and are available from venue box offices, a credit card hotline on 0115 912 9000 or gigsandtours.com Here is a direct link to purchasing the tickets online from that site. All tickets cost £15 except London which are £16.

Melanie C will be on BBC Radio 1 with Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes today at noon(7am East Coast/10am West Coast). You can listen to Radio 1 live in realaudio by hitting this link.

The duo will also be on Top Of The Pops on BBC 1 television this Friday at 7.30pm performing "Never Be The Same Again" together publicly for the first time.

Five singer Jason Brown talked on a radio show recently about his relationship with Sporty Spice Melanie C. He said that the two are just seeing what will happen between them at the moment, and it's not a publicity stunt as some have accused Mel of following in the footsteps of former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and raising additional media attention just to get her song to #1. J said:

"She's just a really, really great girl, really down to earth. I'd said 'Hello' to Mel and some of the other Spice Girls a couple of times before. But it was after the Brits when I met her properly. I had a few beers with her. It's nice to meet someone who I can sit down with and talk to about normal things. Someone who wants to chat and isn't up there with the fairies. It's really nice and refreshing to meet someone who is doing the same thing as me but is really down-to-earth and normal. That's why we get on so well. People are trying to say it's a big publicity stunt, but if it was just that I'd be getting photographed with Mel everywhere and all that. But as it stands, we've met each other a few times and we get on and we're just seeing what happens, so it's no publicity trick. We won't be conveniently photographed, because I don't want that sort of thing. We speak on the phone a lot. I'll also see Mel again this week. And hopefully she'll come to one of the shows at the weekend."

Victoria and her husband David Beckham were out last night at London restaurant Sugar Reef for dinner with Victoria's sister Louise. The couple then went to the club "Browns" and partied until 4am.

Melanie C's new single "Never Be The Same Again" has entered the UK charts at #1!!! Congratulations to Mel C!! She has knocked Geri Halliwell out of the #1 position. Mel's album Northern Star is #10 this week on the UK album chart.

MelB Wants To Quit..

£3 Million Divorce Settlement

RUMOR WARNING

Jimmy Gulzar is reportedly demanding £3 million as a divorce settlement with wife Melanie B, who left Jimmy at the start of the new year. It was thought that the two had worked out a settlement in January(Story). However now it seems that Jimmy is determined to get what he calls a "proper settlement" from Mel B and is prepared to take the issue to High Court.

NBTSA Single: Early Sales Strong

Melanie C's third solo single "Never Be The Same Again" which was released on Monday in the UK and should be out in most of the world by now(however not the US of course) is showing strong early sales figures with 37,000 copies sold in England so far. Many are predicting it will enter the singles charts at #1 this Sunday.

In the article Melanie admits that she did get into a fight with the rest of the Spice Girls over Christmas break(which has since then been resolved). Hair And Stuff

Posh Spice Victoria Bekcham has bleached her hair completely blonde while her husband David has shaved his head. One London radio station reported a story that David Beckham's haircut had cost him the loss of a Brylcreem deal worth £4 million. Victoria happened to be listening to the station at the same time and called up to protest. She said:

"David hasn't lost any money from Brylcreem.He hasn't lost a penny. I just wanted to ring and let you know that. As if David would have his hair cut if he was going to lose £4 million. I would go crazy if he turned down £4m. I would have ripped his hair out for him. That story is not true, OK? I'm at home just having breakfast. I had the misfortune of listening to your radio station this morning. We get up early every morning because we have got a baby...motherhood is fantastic. Brooklyn is very well, and he has got a skinhead to match David."

Victoria also said that she would soon be jetting off to America to finish work on the third Spice Girls album. The Beckham family is staying at Victoria's parents' home at the moment because their mansion is still under construction. Victoria is staying in the same bedroom as she was when she was five!

Mel C who is rumored to be having a relationship with Five singer Jason Brown, jetted to Dublin to see Five's concert on St. Patrick's Day. After the show, Mel and Jason were chauffeured back to the posh Clarence Hotel where they joined TFI Friday star Chris Evans at a private party. But Mel and Jason stayed for just half an hour before retiring to J's luxury suite and closing the doors behind them. A friend of the singer said:

"J was over the moon when Mel said she was coming over to see him. It is fair to say it made his St Patrick's Day. But J is a very private person, as is Mel, and they are refusing to say exactly what went on. All they'll tell me is that they had a great time."

Sporty Spice Melanie C was in Buxton, Derbyshir a couple days ago where she, along side Nurse of the Year Julieann Carter, helped urge people to take part in Marie Curie Cancer Care's Daffodil Campaign 2000. Mel spoke about losing her grandfather:

"I lost my grandad to cancer so I know how important it is for families to feel help is at hand from charities such as Marie Curie Cancer Care."

Posh Spice Is 11th Hottest

Victoria Beckham has come in as the 11th hottest woman in a poll by readers of Cosmopolitan magazine(UK). Madonna came in first place. The poll will be published in next month's issue of the magazine.

There is a small article and telephone interview with Sporty Spice Melanie C in lesbian magazine Curve(US). The magazine asks her "What's a Spice Girl to do when everyone thinks she's a lesbian?" to which Mel replies "The proper response? I don't know. Sometimes, I like to say it's a compliment, because women do have better taste than men, but, oh, my gosh, I don't know." She was then asked directly whether she's had affairs with women to wich she replied "No, never." She admits that the lesbian image hasn't hurt her any though, telling how after one Spice Girls concert a young girl grabbed her arm and said: "Look, I know you're not gay, but you helped me to come out to my family." "That's kind of touching, isn't it? I'm honored to be able to help someone in that process, because it's so important." said Mel C.

Melanie C helped launch London's Ideal Home show with a visit to the house which is to become the focus of a bizarre new "fly on the wall" show. Five strangers will be paid £10,000 to live together for a month in the house, which in inside the Earl's Court exhibition hall. The group will be surrounded by microphones and Webcams and their progress will be broadcast on London's Heart 106.2 radio station.

Conflicting tabloid reports keep coming out of the UK about whether or not Jason Brown of singing group Five is Melanie C's new boyfriend or not. J recently told one tabloid:

"I haven't had nookie fora year. But I think that's going to change soon. Who can resist a girl like Sporty? She is a beautiful looking woman and I will be seeing her again very soon. When you meet Mel in the flesh you realise just how beautiful she is. She is 100 per cent women. She's got a fit body and a fit mind. Mel's not only sexy, she is a great laugh and fun to be around."

When asked about the fight that Mel C had with him the night after the Brits after hearing that he called her ugly J said:

"I didn't have a clue what she was talking about and told her I'd never have made such a remark. I was amazed about how forward she was. To be honest, I was quite struck by how aggressive and angry she was. I explained again that I'd never said it. I mean you only have to look at the girl. She's gorgeous. Finally things settled down and she asked me if I fancied going for a drink to an after-show bash. Well, it's not exactly a date you'd turn down and I jumped at the chance. Clearly Mel is a girl who knows what she wants. Anyway, we had a few fizzy pops together and got on fantastically. As the night wore on and the fizzy pops continued, we had a little snog. But that's all I want to say right now! The relationship is in its early days and it's a personal, private thing. This is a tough business to have a proper relationship in, so we're going to take our time. But it is fair to say we're great mates and want things to continue slowly. I will never forget the Brits night. Not only did I get an award but I also got to romance one of the most stunning women in pop. That has to go down as one of the best nights in my life. I remember saying to Mel at the time how I couldn't believe it was all happening. But fate is a strange thing and I've got to be one of the happiest guys on this planet right now."

In another interview with another tabloid, J apparently said:

"Mel C and I spoke a couple of words after the Brits and that's all. It's all a case of Chinese whispers since then. I've spoken to her a couple of times and that's that. Now people are suggesting that we'll be getting married and that we are planning on having 12 kids. If she is saying she wants to start something then I'll consider it. If she wants to call me, she can, but I won't be hanging on the other end of the phone waiting for the call."

Victoria's Stereo System

Victoria has caused delay in the building of her £2.5 million mansion in Herfordshire. It will be now at least until April until the home is finished. This is because Victoria has informed the builders that she wants to have a state of the art £150,000 stereo system wired into the house which causes remodeling in the way the house is being consructed. The stereo will supposedly be wired so that there are speakers in every room of the house so the music can be heard everywhere. Victoria has even consulted several hi-fi specialists in London to make sure she gets exactly what she wants.

Northern Star At #13

Melanie C's solo debut album Northern Star is at #13 this week on the UK Album charts. Last week it was #21.

SG Video Battle In Court

Hours of video tape of Spice Girls before they were famous are the purpose of a London High Court case. The videos came to light when a company called Rave Productions folded in 1996. The High Court will decide who owns the rights to the videos. Ex-Rave chiefs Steve Newman, 45, and John Gaudino, 44, are suing colleague Neil Davies for equal rights to the videos. The videos could be worth millions in world wide sales. The videos contain never before seen footage from right after the Spice Girls first met through the end of 1995. The videos feature footage of Spice Girls living in the small house they shared in Maidenhead as well as practicing at Abbey Studios and singing together at their very first public appearance.

Finish the case and release the videos please!! It would be VERY interesting and exciting to see this footage!!!

Spice Girls Are The Richest

Spice Girls are at the top of The Observer's(UK) list of the 100 richest Pop Stars in Britain. The newspaper estimates that Victoria is worth £25.5 million, followed by Mel C at £22.5 million and Mel B and Emma both at £22 million.

The Brit Awards 2000 at which the Spice Girls performed and accepted an award(Story) will be aired in Australia this Sunday, March 12th at 7:30pm on Channel [V].

Sporty Spice Melanie C and Five band member Jason "J" Brown appear to be dating each other. It is rumored that J admitted to it. In an interview Jason once actually said that Mel C is ugly. The two had a heated discussion at a post-Brit awards party but ended up really getting along and even kissing the same night! Jason said recently:

"We met on Friday after the Brits and had a bit of an argument. Then we ended up having a heated encounter. She's a great laugh and who knows what will happen?"

Melanie C was on Zoe Ball's Breakfast Radio Show Finale today and Zoe asked her if the two were an item. Mel replied "He's lovely" after which she giggled. Then Zoe said on the air "it's true Ladies and Gentlemen, Mel C and J" to which Melanie only giggled more. Obviously there's something going on between the two.

MelC Internet Interview

Today was the day of the Melanie C webcast interview! If you didn't watch it live, they have it up at the Virtue TV site. It was pretty interesting. 45 minutes of nothing but pure Melanie C! Unfortunately the interviewer dug too far into her own questions instead of sticking with ones submitted by fans in my opinion. It's good either way. Mel talks about everything from Spice Girls, saying that she's not planning on leaving anytime soon, to her solo career and future plans. Melanie says she will be touring for her album starting in the summer, and will be doing some dates in England in the fall probably. She says that Spice Girls doing anything major together is still off in the future a bit as she wants to do all she can with her solo album, and then give the same dedication to the third Spice Girls release! She also hints that she has a new boyfriend which is rumored to be 25 year old singer Jason Brown from boy band Five. She talks about her thoughts on the current state of the music industry in England, saying that most of the boybands are throw away pop, with the exception of Five and she giggles(which hints to her dating Jason Brown). MelC Bashes Geri's Hair

Sporty Spice Mel C was recently interviewed on BBC2's O-Zone. On the show she commented on former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell's hair saying:

"You know I love Geri, but the hair's got to go. It's a bit big, a bit Barbie, isn't it?"

MelC Talks To Sky News

Sky News(UK) has recently had a talk with Melanie C. In the interview Mel rules out the possibility of a collaboration with Geri Halliwell but says she would love to work with Madonna. Melanie said:

"Musically we are very, very different as artists. But you know, no matter what happens in the industry, in both our careers, Geri is still a very dear friend of mine and that's never going to change. I'm releasing my single at the time that's right for me (same day as Geri's new single) to release it. Geri's career has absolutely nothing to do with mine. Everything I do, it's a personal thing. If the papers want to make a bit of a thing, a media circus, out of it, it doesn't do me any harm. It reminds people that I've got a record out so I'm not complaining."

"I'd like to work with Madonna. I think that would be the icing on the cake so maybe, one day, that would be a great collaboration if she was up for it. But there are so many other artists, bands like Stereophonics or Travis. That's part of the music scene that really excites me. There are so many good rock bands coming out of the country, whereas I think the pop in England's a bit weak at the moment, apart from Five, they're great!!"

She also talked about her music and solo career:

"There's always inspiration behind every song. The writing of my solo album was quite cathartic, it got a lot of stuff out. I think if people have heard some of the album there's a lot of aggression inside me as well as a romantic side, so it's nice to be able to do that and express myself in lots of different ways. My love of music is across the board, I've never really put myself into one style of music, I just enjoy something if I think it's good. So I think that's reflected a lot and a lot of musicians who inspired me are from different genres, people from the R+B and soul music scenes and the rock scene, I think predominantly it's pop with flavours of different styles."

"I'm a very shy person at heart and, with the Spice Girls, trying to compete with Melanie and Geri is a mean task! But that was fun and, in those days, I sat and listened and learned a lot. Now it's exciting for me to have an opinion - which I always had anyway - but now I can express it. I have to be careful what I say - I've got a lot of impressionable young fans. I'm still a Spice Girl so I have to take into consideration the other girls' feelings and thoughts, but I feel a bit freer and able to express what I really feel."

Mel also talks about the possiblity of acting for the first time:

"I have fantasies of being a movie star so, maybe, if the rightscript came in, I'd have a bash at that. But at the moment I'm looking forward to touring this record, because that's what it's all about for me. I just want to get up there on stage and play my music live."

"Wow, what a fantastic night we had on Friday night at the Brits! Did you see us? We were so, so nervous before we went on stage, especially after seeing all the other acts perform so brilliantly and knowing that there were millions of you watching us across the globe !

After the show we nipped over to Sugar Reef for our own little party, which was the perfect way to celebrate. It was a great place to boogie the night away - and we did!

Victoria was shopping with her son Brooklyn yesterday at London's Sloane Square. Meanwhile Mel C was shopping at the same time in North London.

MelC VS Steps

Melanie C continues an ongoing battle with the British pop group Steps. Melanie was asked about Steps by Smash Hits magazine(UK) and she said:

Steps are great entertainment but would they call themselves artists? They don't write their own material. They're not serious musicians. They don't even play with a live band on tour, so don't put them in the same category as someone like me."

She was also recently asked in a Danish interview recently who she thought the worst band in the world was, and she said "Steps". I think it's important to note that Melanie never started bashing Steps out of the blue, but rather just replied honestly to questions that she was asked.

Hiya everyone!

it's the Mels, Emma and Victoria here...we're feeling chuffed to bits right now as you can imagine. We had an absolutely fantastic time at The Brits. We just wanna let you know that you will be able to see exclusive behind the scenes footage. It was a right laugh as we were performing for the first time this century !!! (It's always nice to pick up an award or two - too!) None of this "you can only see what we want you to see" m'larkey, you will be able to see all our backstage antics as they really happen. Uh-oh !

Mel C : Also I will be here on March 9th (6.30pm) for a webchat and interview so if you wanna ask me a question there's still time. It will be fabarama as you will actually be able to see it all (just like the telly) ! Exciting isn't it !

New Video Game To Feature Spice Girls

There is allegedly a video game in development by Aurora & Celebrityfest entitled The Legacy: Good vs Evil which plans to feature Spice Girls! It is a fighting game which claims it will have 30 characters in it, including girl band B*Witched and Spice Girls! Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is also planned to be in the game. The company has yet to get permission from the camps for using the groups in the game however. Ballpark figure for release date is next winter. Here are some early screen shots of the game:

Northern Star Is Rising

Melanie C's solo debut album Northern Star is climbing the UK charts. It was out of the top 75 three weeks ago, re-entered the charts two weeks ago at #59. It moved up to #34 last week, and this week it is at #21. Much of this is probably to be attributed to her new single "Never Be The Same Again", which hits the streets on March 20th.

MelC Mirror Interview

BioRhythm Re-Run

BioRhythm: Spice Girls will be running again on MTV UK tomorrow night at 10pm and also later that night at 1am.

Spice Tracker

The rest of the Spice Girls joined Victoria yesterday for a birthday party at Cotton's Hotel in Knutsford, Cheshire for Victoria's son Brooklyn. The party is said to have cost a total of £10,000 and had around 100 guests. Victoria went outside for thirty minutes to sign autographs for well-wishers.

Brits In Brazil & Latin America

Clarice was the first of many to write in and inform that the Brit Awards 2000 will be shown in Brazil & Latin America on FOX this Saturday, March 11th at 10pm and re-run again the following Sunday(Mar 12th) at 1.30pm.

Brits In France

Steph Spice writes in to say that the Brit Awards 2000 which took place on Friday(Story) will be airing in France on channel M6 on March 18th at 11.25pm.

Once again, they will be airing in Canada on MuchMusic on March 14th at 9pm.

Victoria told a Sunday newspaper that she loves being a mother and would love to have three more brothers for Brooklyn.

ITV Cuts Holler Holler

ITV who broadcast the Brit Awards in England edited out the Spice Girls' performance of "Holler Holler" due to time constraints. ITV said that they may put it back in for re-runs of the show if they get enough complaints. Complain Here.

Scary Spice Mel B and her new boyfriend Max Beesley just can't seem to stay away from each other. Max was at the Spice Girls' rehearsals for their Brit Awards performance and after each song girls got done practicing, the two would start kissing. Max has also been spotted at some London jewlery shops shopping for an even more expensive ring for Mel. Tabloids are saying it's an engagement ring he's looking for, but thats just tabloid rumors.

Brits Summary

The Spice Girls accepted their award for Outstanding Contribution To British Music today at the Brit Awards. Former Spice girl Geri Halliwell did not accept with them. Mel B however made sure to extend thanks to Geri when they accepted the award. Mel said:

"We've all got to say a big big thank you to Geri because without her we wouldn't be able to do this."

Before the award the girls did an interview in which Mel B did have a dig at Geri saying:

"Unlike Geri, we will be performing live. I'm sorry, I had to say it....I always get in trouble for everything!"

The rest of the girls giggled when she said this. She is of course referring to the fact that Geri lip-synced her performance. The Spice Girls performance was amazing. Some early reviews of the performance said the Spice Girls proved that they are the "undisputed queens of brit pop". The girls' performance was much choreographed and practiced for in advance. It included fireworks, and went the whole nine yards. The girls performed a medley of four songs: Spice Up Your Life, Say You'll Be There(A cappella), Holler Holler, and ended with Goodbye at which point the girls got very emotional like they sometimes do with the song and had tears in their eyes. They sounded amazing and really proved that they are excellent singers. Here are a couple pics of the girls from the awards:

Melanie C did not win her catagory for best female artist, the award went to Beth Orton.

Just a reminder that today is the day that the Spice Girls will be accepting their Outstanding Contribution To British Music award, as well as performing at the Brit Awards 2000. Keep it here for the latest news as to what happened as it comes in.

MelC Not Gone After Brits

Melanie C has shot down rumors that she would be leaving Spice Girls after this year's Brit Awards (See Previous Story). On her streak of UK television promo appearances on shows such as Big Breakfast and The Priority she falsified rumors that she would be leaving as well as that she is having a big fight with Mel B. She even showed pictures of the girls rehearsing for their Brit Awards performance.

MelC Gone After Brit Awards

I have zero belief in this, as the British media is most likely trying to build up more drama then there already is for this Friday's Brit Awards, but it's in the media anyway:

Sporty Spice Mel C has told friends that this Friday's appearance with Spice Girls at the Brit Awards 2000 will be her last with the group. She is supposedly leaving the group after this weekend's Brit Awards ceremony.

Liam Gallagher: Chicken

Spice Girl Melanie C has branded Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher a chicken on Channel 4's Big Breakfast(UK) for avoiding her during the pair's war of words. Mel says that the two have made up now but that Liam deliberately layed low during their battle. Mel said:

"I think he's a chicken actually. All the threats and everything else he gave to me, I've never actually met him."
