OK! Magazine has made an agreement with the Beckhams. It has given them £100,000 for allowing them to make a spin-off book of the Beckham's nuptials. If you remember it was OK! Magazine who paid the Beckhams £1 million for their wedding picture rights.

MelC Interview Update

Melanie C's webcast interview(Story) will actually take place at Virtue TV. You can submit questions for her via email at press@virtuetv.com. Virtue TV says they are getting question emails at a rate of six per minute and have to draft extra staff to sift through the questions.

Death Threats

The lives of Victoria and David Beckham seem to be full of stress and problems lately. A never ending onslaught by the British media; David having heated exchanges with his Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson about missing practice due to his son being ill and that not being an acceptable excuse for Sir Alex; rumors flaring that the mothers of both families have fallen out with each other over Victoria's influence on David's soccer career; the Beckham stalker(Story) ignoring police and coming face to face with David (Police have now placed the woman in custody under the Mental Health Act); and now death threats.

Death threats were sent both to the Beckhams and to Victoria's parents. The contents of the death threats included modified pictures of the couple with baby Brooklyn showing blood coming out of a bullet wound to Brooklyn's head. The threats also included detailed accounts of the couple's personal lives. Also included were maps of the Hertfordshire countryside with the families' homes circled in red ink. There was also a map of the area surrounding nearby Heath Mountprep school, which Brooklyn is reportedly due to attend. The school's grounds have also been ringed in red ink in the same sinister manner. The Beckhams have upgraded their already tight security at and around their home.

Spice Girls' video for their debut song "Wannabe" was the 24th most played video of all time on MTV(US). The channel ran a countdown of the 25 most played videos after they reached their one millionth video played.

Mel C On Court Case

Melanie C was asked what she thought of the outcome of the Spice Girls loss to Aprilia in their court case(Story). Melanie shrugged off the £1 million loss and said:

"Justice has not been done. But we don't care. Hey ho, life goes on."

Melanie was then asked about her new single "Never Be The Same Again". She laughed and added:

"What will never be the same again? Gosh, who knows... My bank account after the court settlement?"

Emma & MelC On Geri

Both Melanie C and Emma Bunton talked to BBC Radio 1 in seperate instances. The two girls seem to have differing views on whether Geri should accept their Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music. Mel C said:

"I firmly believe that she should be up there with us. But there's five girls, y'know, who have to make that decision. And that's just, y'know, that's just my opinion,"

Emma however said:

"Obviously, the five of us were in the Spice Girls but we have sort of moved on. And we did an American tour and, y'know, we've done another single and had a Christmas No.1. So I think we have moved on now and become a four piece."

When Melanie was told what Emma said on the show, Mel said:

"We haven't even talked about it. We're just having alaugh rehearsing for The Brits. Geri is not really something that we talk about because we've got our own lives and we're not obsessed like the British tabloids are."

Spice Girls Lose Court Case

Spice Girls have lost their court case against Aprilia(Story). Judge Arden held a court session in which the decision was revealed today in London. Spice Girls will have to pay Aprilia around £1 million for damages and court costs. There will be another hearing to determine the exact amount of the claim against Spice Girls Ltd. by Arpilia. A spokesman for Aprilia said:

"Aprilia does not have any ill-feelings towards the members of the Spice Girls or Geri Halliwell and wishes them all the best for their future careers."

MelC & Geri Together On T4

Melanie C and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell will appear together on Channel 4's(UK) show T4. They will both be promoting their singles. A show insider said:

"We were surprised they both agreed to go on the same show, but apparently they get on fine."

They will both be on the same show, I don't know if they will both be out at the same time however.

That would be VERY interesting though..

Madonna Turns Girls Down

Posh Is New Di

Sporty Spice Melanie C insists that England is is developing an unhealthy fascination with Posh Spice and she is being treated like the new Princess Di. Melanie said:

"We don't have Princess Diana to follow around anymore, so people have picked on her. The obsession with David and Victoria is now out of their control, the media's control and out of the nation's control. Poor Victoria is just being a mother and a wife, not a girl power activist."

Melanie also commented on rumors that Victoria wears the pants in the relationship, and about David missing soccer practice to be with his son while he was ill:

"She's got no control over David's actions. Victoria is one of my best friends and The Spice Girls have all become very close to David as well. We know that David and Victoria will be OK. The attention is something she is used to, you can't say the Spice Girls' lives have been normal for the last four years. I know Victoria. She wouldn't put any pressure on David. He is his own person and makes his own decisions. He's not a puppet. There are lots of footballers who are married with children. But no matter what, you can't put your job in front of your family so David did the right thing.

Melanie talked about Victoria's weight:

I know that Victoria has lost a lot of weight. I spend a lot of time with Victoria and we go socialising and eating. Victoria's state of mind is good, there is nothing wrong with her. If there was a problem we would be the first to say it, but she is just completely rushed off her feet with the baby. She has a lot of pressures on her with being followed by the paparazzi. The nervous energy that she burns up through all that doesn't help her. She's lost a lot of weight since the birth of Brooklyn but the doctors have said that it's her metabolism. As a friend, I say she is very healthy."

Princess Diana's mother has spoken out and labelled the comments and comparisons between her daughter and Victoria as "an insult". She said:

"I think these comparisons are poor taste of the lowest order. I appreciate Victoria has her problems and I wish her well in coping with those.But to compare herself to my daughter is totally insensitive to all her immediate family. There is a great difference between being a showbusiness personality and a princess. Anything that cheapens her memory is not only not helpful but also very hurtful to those who were closest to her. I do not think for one moment Victoria and her husband know what my daughter experienced over a great many years. But it is not to say I do not understand that Mr and Mrs Beckham have difficulties which need compassion and understanding."

Peace With Halliwell, Mel B

Melanie C recently talked to British Tabloid News Of The World and told them:

"I'd love Geri to appear onstage with us when we get our Brit Award. I'm only one quarter of the group and one-fifth of the equation, but I'd like Geri to be there because she was part of our success story. Anyway, I don't bear her any ill feelings."

She also denied her rumored serious row with group member Mel B saying:

"I've not even had the chance to see Mel B face to face in the last couple of weeks because I've been so busy promoting my new solo single and she's been on holiday."

Mel also commented on the Spice Girls' Outstanding Contribution to British Music Award(which was originally thought to be a Lifetime Achievement award) which they will be recieving at the Brit Awards this year:

"I was gobsmacked. I thought, 'Aren't we a bit young to pick up a Lifetime Achievement award?' Then I discovered that this year they're calling it an Outstanding Contribution Award instead. That makes more sense, at 26 I hope I still have a lot more achivements to come."

Melanie C's upcoming single "Never Be The Same Again" was going to be one of her first singles. Left-Eye from TLC which is featured on the song remixed it almost immediately after it was finished however it included swear words and Melanie didn't see them fit in the song so she demanded Left-Eye make a new mix which Left-Eye wasn't happy about doing. Melanie B has returned to the UK from her romantic trip to Barbados with soap star Max Beesley(Story). Melanie has returned to throw a lavish birthday party for her daughter Phoenix Chi, which takes place today. Stalker Backs Off

The stalker who was stalking the Beckhams(Story), primarily David, has backed off after beign warned by police. The stalker is a currently unemployed 36 year old escort girl named Chinyelu Obue. She spoke to the media after beign warned by police. She said:

"I now know I've got no chance with him. I'm usually 13½ to 14 stone. I suppose that's a bit different to what he's used to with Victoria. I'd spell out his name with special little messages, like B for bed, E for ecstasy, C for cuddles, K for kisses, H for horny, A for adrenalin, M for masturbate. I've got my own sex appeal and plenty of admirers, but I admit I once wanted to sleep with David. Some stuff I wrote was a bit porno but it was just a giggle. I never wanted to hurt him. Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has spoken more about her modeling experience(Story). She said:

"Backstage I was thinking 'I must be the only model who's five foot four and has a chest.' They're all very tall and really skinny. And here I am much smaller than them, and I've got boobs. When I was walking down the catwalk I was really worried about them coming out. But I took it easy and didn't rush down so there was no chance of that happening. It was nerve-wracking out there. I was so scared. It was more frightening than performing with the Spice Girls. I've played in front of thousands of people, but this was completely different. It was the first time I was on stage without the girls, which was weird. When the lights went up I took a deep breath and started walking down. I just looked straight ahead. Then people started cheering and clapping, it was madness. I felt as if I'd been walking for ages when I got to the end of the catwalk. My parents and sister were sitting there, waving and cheering and taking pictures. I turned and went back and got changed and started getting ready for the last appearance. I couldn't stop shaking. I tried really hard to keep still, but it just wasn't happening. David rang earlier and wished me all the best. He's training, but I'll see him later. Our son Brooklyn is with David's mum, he's started to walk now and would be running all over the place if he was here. I'd do it again definitely if somebody asked me to. The reason I did it today was because Maria's a close friend and I wanted to give something back. It was nice to be asked, but I wanted to do something different. I love Maria's style, it's really funky. And the necklace I was wearing was by Chinyee Chu, she's fantastic too."

Judgement Reserved In Aprilia Case

The court hearing between the Spice Girls and an Italian motorcycle manufacturer ended at the High Court on Monday. Mrs Justice Arden reserved her judgment to a date to be announced later after hearing almost five days of testimony and evidence.

The two flew by concorde(at £6500/ticket) and are staying in a secluded villa complete with its own butler, cook and maids. The house is a beachside complex whcih costs £8,000/week and features a swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis court and sauna as well as three bedrooms, a TV room and marble-floored lounge leading outside to a patio via French windows. The couple have rarely been out during the day, preferring to get up late and sunbathe by their oval- shaped pool, where they rub sun cream on one another. Rather than go to restaurants, they have been eating home-cooked Bajan meals at the villa, where staff cater for their every need. At night the fun-loving pair have been clubbing around the island's capital Bridgetown. Former husband Jimmy Gulzar now alleges that Max stole Melanie from him as he had suspected that maybe there was something going on between the couple even during their marriage. Max told Jimmy that nothing was going on and he would never do anything with a married woman when Jimmy confronted him about it a couple months ago.

Geri Won't Join SG For Brit Award

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell will not be joining her former Spice Girls colleagues when they receive their outstanding achievement award at next month's Brit Awards(Story). Geri released a statement today which reads:

"I'm delighted and honoured that the Brits committee should choose the Spice Girls as recipients of the outstanding contribution award. The Spice Girls were and are a remarkable band, and I will always be proud of our achievements. I do not, however, feel it would be appropriate for me to join the girls to receive the award as I am no longer an active member of the band. This is their moment in the spotlight and they deserve it."

A spokeswoman for the Spice Girls said tonight there had been no dialogue between the group and Geri about the possibility of her joining them to receive the award.

Emma's Day In Court

Lots of significant new information about the Geri split here..

Emma was at London High Court yesterday on behalf of Spice Girls in the Aprilia lawsuit(Story). When she left the court Emma told reporters:

"I'd rather do a show. I was nervous. Going on stage is much easier."

Emma was in the witness seat testifying for half an hour. Emma's argument was generally that Spice Girls "never believed that she would go". She being Geri of course. Prosecuters attacked Emma with two instances when Geri Halliwell told Spice Girls that she would be leaving the group. The first instance was just after the group started their world tour and took place on a coach bus going from the airport to their hotel in Frankfurt, Germany. Emma admitted that she had a bad memory and did not remember the two instances when Geri told the group she would be leaving. She said in response to the Frankfurt question:

"I just know that when I looked at Geri's statement, then I did remember the conversations."

Prosecutor Andrew Sutcliffe then suggested to Emma that this must have been "a major piece of news". Emma replied

"I never took it that seriously because things were said quite frequently. But it was something we just took in, because we had arranged to do this tour until September. We never believed she would go."

The second instance when Geri told the group she would be leaving was on March 8th in Milan, Italy. When asked about this instance Emma said:

"I don't remember her saying it was definite. I just remember her mentioning it again."

Prosecutors then said to her

"Do you remember Victoria asking Geri why and Geri saying 'I've had enough and just want to finish with a big finale at Wembley'? Do you remember Mel C saying 'This feels like a Take That moment', when Robbie Williams left Take That, and asking Geri 'Are you doing a Robbie on us?' and Geri replying 'No, I am not. I'm going to stick it out until September. I am committed to the band' ?"

Emma replied:

"It was just jokingly said. And we were just about to go on stage. I think we were laughing. Again we didn't seem to take it seriously. She never said she wanted to do something else. I think one of us asked her why. She said . . . oh, I can't remember what she said. But I never remember her having other plans."

The Spice Girls' former lawyer, Andrew Thompson, told the court that Geri Halliwell had officially told him and Nancy Phillips, a director of Spice Girls Ltd at an informal meeting on April 25th, of her intentions to leave the group just before they were going on stage at Wembley. At first he wanted to put out a press release but it was agreed that was "ludicrous" and that the news should be kept confidential "as she may well have changed her mind". He said contracts with Aprilia were written in such a way that there would be no breach of contract if the group's line-up changed. Geri Halliwell is expected to testify tomorrow.

Emma Goes To Court

Emma Bunton will be at London High Court today defending on behalf of Spice Girls. This is of course referring to the Aprilia lawsuit(Story). Aprilia claims that the Spice Girls signed the contract with all five of them fully knowing that Geri Halliwell would leave the group soon. Apparently Emma is supposed to give evidence that the girls didn't know or weren't sure that Geri would leave. Geri Halliwell herself is expected in court later this week on behalf of Spice Girls also testifying that Spice Girls were not fully aware that she would be leaving or when she would be leaving.

Emma Denies Rift

Baby Spice Emma Bunton spoke with BBC Radio 1 on Monday and denied the rumors that Mel B and Mel C had been arguing with each other after Mel C made up with Geri (Story) . Emma was also asked whether Geri will join the rest of the girls on stage next month to receive their Lifetime Achievement award at the Brits. She said:

"I don't know what's happening there at the moment. Everyone makes up stories all the time, it's ridiculous, we're best friends, you know, we're always together and that is total rubbish."(referring to Mel B & Mel C rift rumor)

Yesterday the Spice Girls launched a high court action against Italian motor scooter manufacturer Aprilia. Spice Girls made an agreement with Aprilia to do an advertisement campaign for them in 1997 and the company launced a special edition "Spice Sonic" motor scooter. In return Aprilia agreed to sponser the girls' 1998 world tour (The Aprilia advertisements played before the concerts started as you will recall if you went to one of the tour concerts). When Geri Halliwell left the group, Aprilia got into an argument with the Spice Girls. Aprilia says that the Spice Sonic's publicity was geared around the entire five member group. Spice Girls decided to sue Aprilia for £212,500 when Aprilia refused to pay the final instalment of the £400,000 sponsorship deal. Aprilia has decided to counter-sue the Spice Girls for £1.1 million on a charge of counter-claim for misrepresentation and breach of contract. Aprilia claims that £1.1 million was the lost profits caused by the logos of the five girls on their scooters not matching up to the four girls left in the group. The hearing was set to start yesterday but was adjourned until today. Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is expected to be called upon during the 8 day case. Current Spice Girls members may be called upon as well.

Victoria showed off new blonde highlights when she and husband David Beckham attended a charity screening in London. They both wore matching brown. Tanned Victoria wore a strapless bustier and trousers topped off with her new hairdo featuring burgundy streaks on top and touches of blonde in the fringe.

MelB Gives Jimmy £60,000

RUMOR WARNING

Melanie B has given her former husband Jimmy Gulzar £60,000 as a gift while their divorce settlement is being put together. Jimmy has already received £22,000, and will get the remaining £38,000 in the next few weeks. "A close source" to Mel B says:

"Their lawyers are working out how much Jimmy will get. But Mel didn't want to see him struggling while they come up with a deal. Even though they've split up, he's still the father of her child and she wants to make sure he's OK."

Sydney Cancelled

The Spice Girls were planning to put on a show at this year's Olypic games in Sydney, Australia. The performance was the first of many to be broadcast live over the Internet. The girls have cancelled the performance however due to time constraints as they are trying to complete their third album.

Emma's Tattoos!

Baby Spice Emma Bunton revealed during her interview on UK show The Priority that she actually has two tatoos! One is on the top of her right leg which she couldn't show on TV. The other one is on her lower back, and she did show it off! It appears to be some sort of Chinese symbol.

OK! Emma

Emma Bunton is on the cover of the January 28th issue of OK! Magazine. There is an interview and many pictures of Emma in her new house! I am working on a full scan of the entire article with pictures but it's taking an awful long time because OK! Magazine is bigger then 8½x11 inches per page, and my scanner can only fit 8½x11 per scan. aka I have to scan each page twice, then mesh the two scans together, resize, etc, blah!! It'll probably take me a few more days to complete.

"I needed to get a new car seat for Brooklyn, and he had to weigh 21 pounds before he could sit in this car seat, so I went into Boots and I had no idea how much he weighed and there were no baby scales. So I stood on these scales, then got off and got back on with Brooklyn, so I knew if he was heavy enough for this car seat. And as I'm standing there on these scales there is all these people walking past going, 'Oo, I hope you're putting on a bit of weight dear, you could use it.'"

MelC Comments On Brit Nom & Mel B!

BBC Radio 1 asked Melanie C what she thought of being a nominee for Best British Female at the Brit Awards 2000. Melanie said excitedly:

"I can't believe it, it's so fantastic. It's tough, tough competition, you know. I think that's a very tough section. There's some great female artists there."

Mel was then asked what she thought of running against former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell in the catagory. Mel said

"Good luck to her. She's been very successful with the album, you know, so obviously people like her stuff, so good luck to her. It's nice to see two Spice Girls there. We should be proud of ourselves, and I'm proud to be in there with that lot."

Mel C also said that Mel G is now going back to being called Mel B!

MelC & Ronan Duet

Ronan Keating of boy band Boyzone and Melanie C are in the new issue of NOW Magazine(UK). They commented on each other in the interview, hinting at the possibility of doing a duet together. Ronan was asked if the two would make a single together. He said:

"I'd love it. It's always interesting working with other people and you learn so much. I really admire Mel for what she's doing. To go from the biggest band in the world to a solo career is not an easy thing to do. Somewhere down the road we might get the time to do something, to maybe record a single."

Melanie said:

"I've got a lot of respect for Ronan. He's so young and he's done so much. I think he's fantastic, he even manages Westlife."
