The new issue of Insider Spice(the fanclub newsletter) has an interview with the girls about their upcoming album Forever. Here is a local transcript of the interview. This interview reveals that "Goodbye" WILL be on the new album, as well as the title of a new track, "Weekend Love", and corrects the title of another song on the album to "Tell Me Why" instead of "Why" as we previously thought.

Looks like Brazil gets another exclusive. Virgin Records Brazil has posted on their official website the alleged album cover for Forever, the new Spice Girls album. Here is a picture of it. I mean I guess it's the same for all International versions, but I don't know... something just doesn't seem right about it, at least to me..
Wednesday, September 13th, 2000 |
An Irish Boy Band called Westlife has declared war on the Spice Girls by planning the release of their new album the same day as the girls' third album Forever(Nov 6th). Being popular in the UK, their intentions are clear: to dethrone the Spice Girls by beating them to the #1 spot in the album charts. Westlife have vowed to move their album release date if Spice Girls change theirs. Westlife member Kian Egan said: "We're really going for it with this album. Pop bands don't come much bigger than the Spice Girls so we're going to take them on to see who's really Number One."

A new song title off the Spice Girls' third album, Forever, has been revealed. It's a song called "Why". At MuchMusic headquarters in Canada yesterday, a handfull of reporters got to hear three tracks off the album: Holler, Let Love Lead The Way, and Why. Why is a ballad and features a rare lead vocal turn from Victoria!

If you, like me, are quickly over the idea of being forced to watch streaming video, then you'll be happy that Char over at her new Spice Site - Spice Viva Forever - has a 150kbps RealVideo version encoded from a UK television premiere to download. It's still only realvideo quality, but it's certainly better than having to watch the streaming version each time. Here is a local copy:

As promised, the official Spice Girls website has been updated with all sorts of "Holler" media! They have the full song up there(40kbps RealAudio), the full video(28, 56, and 128k RealVideo streams), and they even have a making of video up there!(28, 56, and 128k RealVideo streams). The making of video is different from the Brazilian one(Story). This one is a lot better, it's awesome! Check it all out at the official site, or below are direct links to the streaming video files. I haven't been able to rip these videos off the streaming servers unfortunately. Look for the possibility of a higher quality Holler video on SpiceNews soon since MuchMusic among other stations are premiering the video tomorrow, and rips are possible.
The site also has a message from the girls intertwined between all the media links:
Hi everyone!!!!!! Holler is our first Spice single for nearly 2 years! (Can you believe it?! - Well I guess we have all been quite busy!) It's a double A-Side with 'Let Love Lead the Way' (we love both just as much as each other and couldn't decide which to release - so we released them together!!) It's out on October 23rd but get this, you can hear it HERE, NOW!!!!!!! So what are you reading this for, press play and see what you think?! We hope you have as much fun with it as we did making it!
But what's this....we've got the new VIDEO as well. Oh yes - we're back alright!!
But that's not all 'cos when we were making the Holler video we had the crew from the C3 website following us around with their cameras. We reckon they've got just about everything that went on behind the scenes Do you want to see it?!
You won't be able to get the single anywhere else on the net so you know where to come in future, dontcha! We've got so much going on over the forthcoming months and you can get it all here, on OUR site.
Thanks for staying with us. We love you all.
Love, peace and Girlpower.

Here is a "Holler" MP3 cd rip! My guess is it's a rip from inside one of the Brazil stations, or it could just be an advance rip from anywhere within Virgin or any stations that were sent the promo(most likely). Anyway, it's dope, cd-rip, cd-version, 192kbps MP3, here is a local copy, get it while it lasts, I don't know how long I'll keep it up:

Here are some screen shots from the "Holler" Video, captured from the Making Of(see below) to hold us over until tomorrow's video!
Sunday, September 10th, 2000 |
So bi_chu wrote in and told me that the file can indeed be downloaded(Story) as it's available on their http server as well as their pnm server(weird) as i didn't notice myself. Even odder is the fact that the video only does play at 1.5fps, even though the stats of the video say it was encoded at 15. So it's actually a small file size, framey file. Never-the-less it gives you some behind the scenes insight and Holler Video footage:

The Brazilian Virgin Music site has a video that is behind the scenes in the making of the video for "Holler", the new Spice Girls video! It's encoded at 15 frames per second but I only get like 1.5 when watching it and unfortunately it's in streaming RealVideo on a greedy pnm server that I haven't been able to get around and be able to actually download :( Here's a direct link to the video. Good luck in your viewing frame rates...
Thursday, September 7th, 2000 |
It seems that most radio stations around the world have been given permission to start playing "Holler" on September 11th. The video will also debut on MuchMusic(CAN) on September 12th at noon!

Somebody did a half assed radio rip of the new Spice Girls song "Holler" from Brazil radio station Jovem Pan, the only station on the planet that is playing it(Infact you can hear the "Jovem Pan" station tag over the song once in a while). The radio rip is 3 parts of the song clipped together instead of the whole thing :| 100% has what seems to be the most original file in wav format. I've taken it, amplified it, balanced volume levels, reduced hiss(it was quiet, and had A LOT of hiss), basically tried my best to clean it up, mp3'd it, and I think it sounds significantly better then the original file. Here it is:

Sporty Spice Melanie C talked about the new upcoming Spice Girls album Forever and possible touring:
"The new album is nearly finished, so the first thing we need to do is get out there and see what the reaction is like. We should be touring by next summer at the very latest."
When asked if a future tour would be kicked off in Ireland like the previous she said:
"It would be great to do that again, we all love Ireland. There's a real possibility we could do it again. We love doing
our own thing, but I wouldn't swop my place in the group for the world. I love being in The Spice Girls."
Friday, September 1st, 2000 |
Just recieved an email from a SpiceNews reader in Brazil, he's stating that his local radio station is playing "Holler", and after first posting this I have gotten a few more emails confirming this.

The official Spice Girls homepage is giving away 10 signed copies of the upcoming Spice Girls album in a contest in which you must guess the name of the third album from a list of three possibilities. The actual album name will be announced on August 25th. So the new album is one of the following three for sure:
- Spice 2000
- Forever
- Third Time Around
Sunday, August 13th, 2000 |
Melanie B says of the upcoming Spice Girls album:
"It's a bit more grown up and mature and a hell of a lot stronger, vocally and lyrically. We've worked with Rodney Jerkins quite a lot who's done some great stuff with Destiny's Child. He gives the album an R&B flavor but the four of us give it that pop element."
Wednesday, August 9th, 2000 |
Victoria spoke to dotmusic yesterday about the third Spice Girls album and about her upcoming webchat(Story). She said about the album:
"I wouldn't say it was the hardest album we have done so far because my own album is probably the hardest. We've taken our time with it. The reason its taken so long is that we've all wanted to do our own thing as well. It's a really great album and we're very proud of it. It's a bit more of a mature sound but that's natural as two of us have had babies and we've all grown up a lot. My personal favorite is a song called 'If You Want To Have Some Fun'. It's quite swingbeat, very summery and it's very 'up there'. But it still has that Spice Girls feel to it."
Tuesday, August 8th, 2000 |
The official Spice Girls homepage has posted news confirming that the third album(title still to be announced) will be released on November 6th, and the first single on October 23rd. From the official site:
The new Spice Girls album will be released on November 6th.
The Spice Girls have been writing
and recording over the course of
the last 14 months. The third record,
currently untitled was recorded at
several locations including studios
in London, Los Angeles and Miami.
The Girls have been writing and
working with such well known
producers as Rodney Jerkins,
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The
first single will be released on
October 23rd. However, some lucky
fans did get to hear early versions
of a few tracks when the Girls
performed their sold out shows at
Earl's court way back in December.
"We are stronger after being apart for a while and we're very happy to
have been back together in the
studio," Melanie C said of their
forthcoming release. "This strength
will show on this new album, which I
think is our best yet."

Multiple news sources, reports, and stores are putting the Spice Girls' third album release date at November 6th(UK).
MTV(US) has reported today that the third still untitled Spice Girls album will be released in the United States on November 7th.
Thursday, August 3rd, 2000 |
In video for the Spice Girls' first single "Let Love Lead The Way/Holler Holler" from their upcoming album which was shot recently, the girls each represent a different element. One is fire, one is water, one is earth, and one is wind. Mel C told BBC Radio 1:
"We liked the theme 'coz we're all so different, and we all come together and make the Spice Girls and the elements come together to make the earth."
Melanie C was on morning show T4(UK) this morning and said that the new Spice Girls single will be a double A-Side of "Let Love Lead The Way" and "Holler Holler". She said that the video for "Let Love Lead The Way" was filmed last week and the video for "Holler Holler" will be filmed soon. She also mentioned that the single will be released between September and November. Melanie gave the same news last night on BBC Radio 1.
Saturday, July 15th, 2000 |
Melanie C says that Spice Girls actually still have two more weeks of studio
work on the third album before it's ready to release. She also said that it
will be released in November and that the first single HAS NOT been chosen yet,
no video has been shot, and it's still up for discussion which one will be the
first single. A seperate rumoristic news report states that Spice Girls will
release a single on December 18th, and will have to battle a Westlife single
for the Christmas #1 spot. Finally, mtv.com(US) has posted a story about the possible return of Spice Girls before
year's end. MTV(US) also has a poll up
gathering information on whether there is interest in the new Spice album.
Go there and
vote NOW as it could influence the amount of coverage and exposure MTV
gives the new Spice album.
Emma commented on the track "Woman" on the upcoming Spice Girls album. Emma said:
"Woman is really different to most of the things that we've done. I think that naturally we're all growing musically and individually as well."
There is a track on the upcoming third Spice Girls album which is seven minutes long and titled simply "Bye" in which the girls reminisce about all the memories they have of being in the Spice Girls. It looks like it's supposed to be a goodbye, this is the end of Spice Girls message. The ONLY reason this is being posted is because it somehow made it to a national British newspaper, I wouldn't believe it.
The Spice Girls video for "Let Love Lead The Way", the first single off their third album will premiere on CD:UK(UK) on July 22nd!
In a small interview after her performance on this past Saturday's TOTP, Melanie C revealed that the new Spice Girls video has been shot!:
"I was nervous before going on stage, but there was so much love from the crowd when I went on that I had a brilliant time. There is so much energy that you just lose yourself. Life for me is fantastic right now, everyone's doing their solo projects at the moment. We've also just finished the third Spice Girls album and shot the next video. The album should be out in maybe October or November."
Rodney Jerkins, one of the main producers on the Spice Girls' third album, was recently interviewed by Black Beat Magazine(US), and there
were some bits about Spice Girls:
Magazine: What in the world are you doing with the Spice Girls?!!
Rodney: Aww man, it came out phenomenal! I originally did three songs, and then they
wanted me to do more songs. Believe it or not, I think people are gonna be
shocked at how good they sound.
Magazine: You got them singin'?
Rodney: Yeah, they sound good. I mean, they sound like the Spice Girls, you know
it's them. With the songs that I did, I wanted to give a mixture. I wanted
to do one that was strictly Darkchild and make you dance. So I did something
like that. Then I wanted to do something on their tip, something pop and
uptempo. Something that I haven't done, that can take me to another level,
that can make Backstreet Boys and N'Sync call.
In an Australian radio interview yesterday, Mel C said:
"We've just finished writing and recording the album in Miami and it's just all that needs to be done now is for it to be
mixed. We'll have a single out towards the end of the summer, and the album will be out in the autumn."
Sporty Spice Melanie C in a recent interview talked about the third Spice Girls album and said:
"We have got some mums in the band but it's not a mature album, it's still cheeky and fun, and very danceable to when you're drunk."
Heat magazine has conducted an interview with Sporty Spice Melanie C. In the interview Mel reveals some new information about the third Spice Girls album. The first single off the album will be a ballad entitled "Let Love Lead The Way" and will be released in August, with the full album coming in September. Melanie said about "Let Love Lead The Way":
"It's just about love conquering all, really. Highs and lows, happy times and sad times - it's about life."
Mel also assured fans of the quality of the third album:
"People keep expecting rubbish from the Spice Girls, but the Spice Girls are never gonna give rubbish."
Mel also said that the third album which is still untitled will be more r&b based the the previous two and is currently in the mixing stages.
Tuesday, April 18th, 2000 |
A demo of the Spice Girls' third album is missing! Posh Spice Victoria Beckham was taking the demo tape home with her from a recording session in Miami. She put it in one of her three baggages. When she got off the plane at Heathrow airport in London, the bags were missing. British Airways are to this moment still unable to find the luggage but are scrambling to find it. The tape was in one of the pieces of luggage. Spice Girls are worried that the tape might fall into the hands of bootleggers, and end up on the Internet.
The official Spice Girls homepage has news that the Spice Girls third album is now due for release at the end of the year. The site says:
This month the girls are heading back to the US to re-unite with supremo producer, Rodney Jerkins. They will be recording three tracks which will put the final touches to the third Spice album due for release at the end of this year.
Tuesday, March 26th, 2000 |
Someone has finally decided to encode and post the 1999 Kare 11 News feature about Spice Girls working with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on their new album! This is the news segment where the clips of "Oxygen" and "If You Wanna Have Some Fun" were pulled from, except now we have video to go along with it! Yes, it's video of Spice Girls recording two of their songs for their upcoming album! This video can be downloaded from this site.
Thanks Mike.

There is an interview with Melanie C in this week's TV Hits Magazine(UK). Here is a snippet from the interview about the third Spice Girls album:
TV Hits: How's the Spice album coming on?
Melanie C: We're all really excited about it, but we're in no hurry to rush it out because we're all still working on our solo stuff. Mel B's still finishing her album, and I want to tour my album properly before we release the Spice Girls third album.
Sporty Spice Melanie C was interviewed on the show T4(UK) yesterday and she said that the third Spice Girls album is nearly complete. She confirmed that Spice Girls will be going to America in April to finish the album.
Thursday, March 9th, 2000 |
In the new VirtueTV interview with Melanie C, Mel says that Spice Girls doing anything major together is still off in the future a bit as she wants to do all she can with her solo album, and then give the same dedication to the third Spice Girls release!
BBC Radio 1 has said that the first Spice Girls single from their forthcoming third album will be "Holler".
Friday, February 4th, 2000 |
Spice Girls have cancelled plans to put on a show at this years' Olypics in Sydney, Australia due to time constraints as they are trying to finish work on the third album.
Sunday, January 23rd, 2000 |
In an interview with TV Week Magazine(UK), the Spice Girls talk about the third album:
TV Week: Are the new songs you're singing on this UK tour typical of what's on the new album?
Mel G:
No, all of the songs on the album are really different.
Emma: One of them,
"Woman", is different to most of the things that we've done in the past. I
think that naturally we're all growing, musically and individually. We've
got a couple more songs to do, and then the album is ready.
TV Week: Emma, isn't there something about a G-string in the lyrics to Woman?
Emma: Yeah, I really like shouting that bit!
Mel G: When we wrote that song, she really
wanted to sing that bit.
TV Week: When do you plan on releasing the album?
Mel G: It will be released in July, 2000. (Pauses) I don't know actually -
that date just came out of nowhere!
Emma: The middle of the year. Because of
the way we work, we want everything to be right. We want the album to be the
way we really want it to be. If it's not right, then it will have to wait.
TV Week: All your fans in the UK are getting the chance to see you play
live. Are you planning on touring the world at the same time the album is
released?
Emma: Once it's out, we can play the tour. Were hoping that we
will do it at the end of 2000, but if that's not possible it will be at the
beginning of next year.
Mel G: We missed out on a lot of places the last
time we toured, so we'd want to go everywhere we haven't been. We'd like to
start in England, and then go around the world and come back.
Saturday, January 22nd, 2000 |
In an update on the Official Spice Girls Homepage Melanie C makes mention of the new album:
"...Then of course there is the next Spice album which we have nearly finished. We may well tour later in the year when we release it."
Thursday, January 20th, 2000 |
Spice Connection has posted a wav file clip of a really bad quality development version of "If You Wanna Have Some Fun". It has Jimmy Jam filling in some bits of the song(Probably before the Spices put that part in). It's from a local US news station that aired the clip and some others that were already posted a few months back. Here is a local copy of the wav file.
Sunday, January 16th, 2000 |
The third Spice Girls album has been pushed back again until November of this year because the girls want to add 10 more tracks to the album. The first single would be released in September or October.
Friday, January 14th, 2000 |
Apparently the third Spice Girls album is not in the post production stage that we might have thought it was. Producer Rodney Jerkins was interviewed by LAUNCH recently and this is what he had to say about the the third album:
"I'm doing nine songs on the album, executive producing the album. I'm due to work back with them at the end of this month, so hopefully it will come out and we'll win Grammy's next year for that one. I want to do a rock song with them. You know, when I think of the Spice Girls, I think of them as entertainers and performers, so I'm going to try to make songs that I know they can perform to and do live and see people go crazy to, and all that kind of stuff. I'm trying to mix it up. Basically, I'm giving them a new sound, but at the same time I'm attempting to do something different myself, which is do what they do but add my flavor to it. It's like a mixture of what I do and what they do, and bringin' it home, you know?"
Tuesday, December 14th, 1999 |
Spice Girls recently made comments about the third album. Basically that it will be finished in the first few weeks of 2000 and Emma says they want to do a fourth album as well! Here is what the girls said in an interview with British tabloid The Sun:
Mel G: "We're going to finish our third album in the first few weeks of the new year, fingers crossed. When we tour next year we want to go to places we missed out on our last tour. I'd love to go to Japan and Australia."
Emma: "I know we're still finishing our third album but we want to do another one. We love doing our solo stuff but we want to carry on releasing material as the Spice Girls as well."
Mel C: "It's going to be different from the other two. There are a lot more tracks from different styles. We've got dance stuff,
R&B and ballads - a real mixture which we hope the fans will like. The Spice Girls have moved on and so has our sound. We've worked with a lot of top producers such as Rodney Jerkins, who has worked with Whitney Houston. We played some of our new material at the concerts in Manchester and were
really nervous about how the fans would react to it. But it went down a storm and it was such a huge relief. We just can't wait to tour and play our new songs."
Thursday, December 9th, 1999 |
In a recent Spice Girls interview with British tabloid The Sun, Melanie G said:
"People keep saying we're finished. Well, I've got news for them. We've got our third album out next year and we're gonna play again for our fans. We're entering phase three of the Spice Girls. The first one was Spice, the second SpiceWorld, now it's going to be Spice 2000."
Is Melanie saying that the name of the third album will be Spice 2000?
Sunday, December 5th, 1999 |
Three new Spice Girls songs were previewed at yesterday's Spice Girls concert(the first of their December tour). These songs will be on the third Spice Girls album. They are entitled "Coming Right Back Atcha", "Woman", and "Holler".
Wednesday, December 1st, 1999 |
Somehow some local station "Kare 11" has obtained at least a clip of one of the Spice Girls' third album songs! The song is "Oxygen", which Jimmy Jam recently spoke about(Story).
Here is the clip!(.wav) Enjoy!
Monday, November 29th, 1999 |
Jimmy Jam, one of the producers who worked on the third Spice Girls album, has spoken about the upcoming still untitled album. Jam says that the Spice Girls have grown up and this album will prove it. But the change won't be so drastic that you won't recognize them. Jam's comments also give us the first two names of tracks off the album: "Oxygen" and "If You Want to Have Some Fun". Jimmy Jam said about the new material:
"You know it's the Spice Girls. My wife probably had the best thing for it. She said when you listen to it, it doesn't sound like cheerleader music. It's fun because the Spice Girls are fun, and it's pop music and danceable, but there's an air of sophistication to it, of maturity, as mature as you can be at 22, 23 and I think it's a good blend. They're just better at what they do. They're better singers. And they're much more together now that there's four of them. 'Oxygen' finds the girls using oxygen as a metaphor for love and life. Each of the girls tells their opinion of what love is, relating it to basically breathing. 'If You Want to Have Some Fun' is more of a straight-up party record."
Friday, November 19th, 1999 |
Baby Spice Emma Bunton has confirmed in a recent Q&A that the Spice Girls will preview new material at their December concerts.
Saturday, November 13th, 1999 |
Emma Bunton made this comment about the next Spice Girls single and album in her recent TOTP online chat:
"The album will be out in the middle of next year. We still have to choose a single. It's the same direction, but working with American producers our vocals have improved 100 percent."
Friday, November 5th, 1999 |
In a press conference today, the Spice Girls said that they are very excited about their third album. They said to expect a single to be released from it in March, with the full album following soon after.
Tuesday, October 26, 1999 |
Rodney Jerkins who produced three songs with the Spice Girls that will appear on their next album commented about his work with them and their third album which he says should show up in the second quarter of next year. Here is what Rodney said:
"I did three songs with them, and everybody I've been playing them for can't believe it's the Spice Girls. I like to create for the artist on the spot. I knew I had to do the Spice Girls 10 months beforehand, but I didn't write one single lyric or do one track until I got to London. We started working on the songs the day I met them, because I wanted to get a vibe from them. We did the three songs in five days."
In a recent interview Melanie C did with the Herald Sun, Melanie says that she will be heading back into the studio soon after her world tour to finish up the third Spice Girls album. From this we know that the album has not been finished yet(duh) :)

Everything seems to be going as scheduled. Melanie C has arrived back in England after recording her solo album Northern Star in the US for the past 3 months. Immediatly after arriving home in England, Melanie has gone to a London studio to begin work on the third Spice Girls album.
It is known through many interviews with the Spice Girls that recording of the third album will begin in August, however in today's online Mel G chat Melanie revealed that she will be returning to the US in October to work on more solo material, and that a single from the third album will be released as a Christmas single. This means the third album will be written and recorded probably entirely in August and September of this year.
Rodney Jerkins, who will help produce the third Spice Girls album produced the following songs:
Brandy & Monica - The Boy Is Mine
Monica - Angel Of Mine
Jennifer Lopez - If You Had My Love
Besides helping produce the third Spice Girls album, he will also be working with Toni Braxton, Puff Daddy, Michael Jackson, Leanne Rimes, and Will Smith this year.
In an April 2nd interview with OK! magazine Melanie C said the following:
"Bryan and I have written two more songs together for my album, which
I'm working on now. I have plans to work with other artists in the
future, but I can't talk about it. I'm happy to have two careers at
the moment, as long as it's feasible and they compliment each other.
The Spice Girls are back in the studio in a few months and we'll have
an album out sometime next year."
The production team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis will work
on producing and co-writing some tracks on the third Spice
Girls album. The production team's past work includes Janet
Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814. Jimmy Jam said:
"We hung out with Baby and Sporty and wrote a song that turned
out [well], Yeah I'm in Spice World now!"

Mel C has revealed that the Spice Girls will record their third
album in August. At the same time Virgin Records Australia has confirmed that we will have
the third Spice album before the end of June. Thats definitly what we get from rumors.

Reports in the general media lately have been that
the third Spice Girls album will not be released on
time, or for that matter, not even in 1999. The media has
been saying that the Spice Girls will not be able to
make their June 1st deadline for finishing recording
of the album due to the pregnancies. It has been
further printed that the release date has been pushed
back to February 2000. Sources for the reports have
been "close friends" of the girls. The LA Frontier(newspaper)
caught up with Mel C in LA as she is there recording
and asked her about the reports. Melanie is quoted
as saying:
"Our album IS coming out June 1st. Don't listen to
the media! And what's with this "a close friend"
business? We've already finished most of the record.
As soon as Melanie and Victoria have their babies and
loose a few kilos we'll put the finishing touches on
it.
MTV is reporting the name of the 3rd Spice Girls album to
be "Great Divide". It seems that this would be the actual
name as MTV is a pretty strong source. They don't have it
as a news report or anything, it just suddenly appeared that
"Goodbye" is listed as on the album "Great Divide". It may
be an error, it may not be, we will see!
The Spice Girls have chosen producer Rodney Jerkins to
work with them on the third album. Rodney is quoted as
saying: "I went out to dinner with a couple of the Spice
Girls about a month and a half ago and they told me that
they want me to, you know, do some work on their album,
so I'm planning on going to London at the end of January,
early February to work on the album, so it should be cool.
I'm ready for it, it will still have a pop appeal, but the
beats will be a little harder." The producer plans to
bring an urban dancable feel to the girls' music. The album
name is still undecided and is set for release this year.
Reports are now coming in that it will be released before
any major solo projects from the individual girls contrary
to other reports. Virgin MD Paul Conroy which is their boss
says that they are working hard this year and are currently
recording new material.
Mel B has commented on the rumors of the new Spice
Girls album not being released until the year 2000 saying:
"That's a bunch of bullshit, we are in the studios now
recording our second single, and our album is due out as
soon as Vicky and I get a weeks break for our babies."
Emma has confirmed that the third album will full of
covers and new songs including covers of "Celebrate The Good
Times" by KC and the Sunshine Band, "We Are Family" by Sister
Sledge, "Sisters" by Annie Lennox, and "Holiday" by Madonna.
The Spice Girls are debating the name of the third album
still and have thought of a new name for it, "Four". They
have not finalized the title because they are unsure if Geri
Halliwell might not be offended by the title somehow.

The Spice Girls were interviewed on an Israeli televsion show
about a week and a half ago. It was mostly routine stuff,
but there was this exchange:
Q: Your new album is due in Spring '99. Some of the songs
(that) were destined to be there were written with Geri
originally. Are you going to include them too?
A: (By Emma:) Ummm, well, for the next album, we will be
writing brand new songs; and, you know, we're taking it
slowy and enjoying the process, because we've been very very
busy, the last album we did was due with the film, so it was
a bit hectic, but this time we're taking our time. We don't
want to say just yet when it would be out, 'cause, you know,
we wanna enjoy it in the process. (MelB in the background:
takin' it easy, man!)

May 1999.

The third Spice Girls album is expected for release in April 1999.

Apparently Virgin Records executives are not pleased with
the pregnancies of Mel B and Victoria. They are all worked
up because the promotional campaign for the 3rd album has
to be reworked and delayed. They are also a bit flustered
up about the girls' safe sex song on the 3rd album. Of
course it's a bit too raunchy for Virgin to like. They also
don't like the idea of the girls being in a video for the
safe sex song while being pregnant.
There are rumors that there is a track on the third Spice Girls album
about safe sex. This is supposed to be the sexiest song the
girls have made to date.
The girls had an interview with MTV News in which they announced their plans to record a third album and said
they are aiming to have it out probably around next spring!
