Tale Of The Lost Tickets

Victoria Adams actually almost missed Manchester United's glorious Championship win! When Victoria arrived in England on Wednesday she was supposed to have tickets waiting for her with the hotel that David Beckham left. The hotel however could not find the tickets and Victoria arrived at the game without them. Security actually gave her a difficult time when she explained her situation and tried to get in. Luckily one of Victoria's friends that was with her got a hold of David Beckham's father which was inside the stadium on a mobile phone. David's mother then came down to Victoria with a spare ticket. Victoria got to her seat with just one minute left to spare!

Upcoming MelG Interview

Melanie Gulzar will discuss her marital problems in an exclusive interview with Channel 4's music show Flava. The show will film her recording songs in America for her upcoming album as well.

More Parties For Emma

Emma was out on a boozy night at London's Ten Rooms club. Her and a few friends ran up a £500 bill according to the bartender.

Victoria Wedding Update

Victoria apparently wanted to have an outdoor sunshine wedding, but she won't be able to do so because OK! Magazine fears that rival publications might get coverage from the sky. OK! Magazine paid Victoria and David £1 million for exclusive rights to the wedding. All male guests have been told to wear matching formal morning suits. The stylist for the wedding is Kenny Ho, who dressed Geri Halliwell when she sang at Prince Charles' Birthday Party. Victoria wants the wedding to be very traditional, not like Melanie B's dynamic wedding. The wedding is to take place on the 4th of July at Luttrellstown Castle, near Dublin.

Documentary Update

The Spice Girls Channel 4 90 minute Documentary will be aired on Sunday, June 6th! Here is a Melanie B quote from the documentary:

"I wouldn't want to insult Geri by saying it was the performance, singing, or dancing that made her leave. There's more to Geri than that, but at the end of the day, she wasn't one of the best singers and dancers, but I'm sure that wasn't the reason why she left. It must have been a bit annoying only being seen for your lips and your boobs. Perhaps that's why she's changed her image."

Victoria Tracker

Victoria Adams and David Beckham brought Brooklyn along with them to Riverside Studios in London as guests on Channel 4's TFI Friday. Bands such as Feeder and Supergrass were asked to turn their volume down as Brooklyn slept in a dressing room. Victoria was interviewed by Chris Evans on the show. A show spokesman said:

"We had to be very careful not to wake such an important guest. The bands were happy to turn down and it didn't really affect their performances."

Big Daddy

It is now confirmed that Melanie C will have a song on the soundtrack for the movie Big Daddy starring Adam Sandler.

Spice Girls Documentary

Channel 4 already unleashed the Geri Halliwell Documentary, now it's time to put out a Spice Girls documentary! The Channel 4 documentary will be called "Spice Girls In America - A Tour Story", and follows the girls on their tour between June and August of 1998 as they are on tour. The Spice Girls talk openly about many things in the documentary. It is due for show later this summer, and will also be 90 minutes long. Emma commented about the documentary:

"This film shows life on the road as it really is, the good and the bad."

New MelG Tatoo

Melanie G has just gotten a new tatoo. She apparently has a tatoo artist who personally comes to her house whenever she wants to get a new tatoo. Mel said:

"He's just done a new tattoo on my left buttock, it's a Gemini symbol."

Courageous Children Awards

Emma Bunton and Victoria Adams were present at the Pride of Britain's Courageous Children Awards. Along with the two Spice Girls was Josie Russell, a brave young girl who's mother Lin and sister Megan were murdered. Young Josie went on stage with Emma and Victoria at her side as she read off the names of the winners of the Courageous Children Awards which were Lucy-Rae Tamulevicius, Sarah Dinsdale, and Rhys and Charly Daniels - All brave children who either saved their parents or fought wars against intense illness. The ceremony was filled with celebrities, many of which were left in tears after hearing the tragic stories of how some of the children or their parents died and how others defeated life taking diseases. Josie - "I was really nervous but the Spice Girls were really nice to me."

Emma - "It is lovely to give awards to children like this who deserve them."

Victoria - "I just hope that my little boy Brooklyn grows up to be half as strong as these people here today. I feel very proud to be here with all these winners."

Playboy Emma

Emma partied and danced a night away recently with Playboy founder and billionaire Hugh Hefner at London's Chinawhite club. Hugh was in London to promote Playboy. Emma was also seen shopping with a mystery man wearing a leather jacket before the party.

Emma and Jade have broken up according to The Sun(tabloid). The couple have had some intense arguments and finally blamed their split on their heavy workloads. Emma is said to be distraught after this breakup and is trying to work her stress off as she has just recently begun work on the Sleeping Beauty BBC film. Tabloids were also running stories of Emma making out with an unknown man in London a few weeks back. For those who do not know, Emma's boyfriend(or former boyfriend) is Jade Jones from the band "Damage".

Victoria has talked to OK! Magazine recently and revealed her fears of her upcoming wedding which is being called the celebrity wedding of the century. Victoria said:

"You see brides and usually they've got all this long, pretty hair, and I've got, like, no hair...and what I have got is spiky! A lot of peoplehave got ideas about what my dress is going to be like, everyone's going to have to wait and see...I don't want to be out and out sexy. I want to do it in a subtle way".

MelG Wedding Woes

Melanie G's marriage to Jimmy Gulzar is having some significant difficulties at this point. A spokeswoman for the couple has confirmed that they are sleeping in seperate parts of their Buckinghamshire home. The couple apparently among other things had a dispute about Melanie taking Phoenix to America with her while she worked on solo material and they even went to lawyers to sort the situation out! Mel and Jimmy were also going to hold a custody battle in court to determine who has main parenting rights over Phoenix Chi, but have apparently cancelled them and are trying to iron out their problems on their own. This scuffling between the couple apparently started a month ago when they were on a trip in Lanzarote with Phoenix and Jimmy got in a fight with a photographer and lost a gold ring given to him by Melanie.

It seems that Victoria has a new hairstyle again. Who knows if this is permanent, or just something she is trying out, either way here is a picture. This is from the ITN internview(previous story).

Meningitis Campaign

Victoria was on a recent television interview with ITN. She confirmed that giving birth to Brooklyn had changed her view of motherhood. Now that she is a mother she has gotten involved in a national campaign to eradicate meningitis. In fact she was at the studio to launch a new project called "Be Free", dedicated eliminating meningitis from England. Victoria handed over a scooter autographed by David Beckham to be auctioned away at a charity for the project. Victoria said:

"It wasn't until myself and David became parents that we really realised how serious these things are and we became involved with the charity." "We just want to do as much as we can to raise awareness and try to get people to give money."

Victoria was accompanied by Menangitis Research Foundation director Denise Vaughan which announced to the viewers:

"May 1999 marks the start of the Foundation's 10th anniversary year. With the help of donations from the public we believe we can Be Free of a disease that not only kills in hours but causes death and disability, fear and devastation."

Victoria also further killed the rumor that she doesn't like living in North England and would prefer the South saying:

"That's not true, I really love it in Manchester. There's been a lot of rumours that I don't, but I love it, and David's happy."

Victoria said a bit about Brooklyn as well:

"I worry all the time. That's what my mum told me, she said when you have a baby you don't stop worrying from the day you have the baby until 25 years time, my mum still worries about me. Obviously he's going to have a different kind of life to a lot of children but myself and David just want to make him as anonymous as we can until he's old enough to decide that he wants to do things for himself."

MelG On Word Up

"I loved the original version of 'Word Up' when it came out and I've wanted to cover it ever since. It had to be done properly though and Timbaland was perfect, it's very respectful but it has his own flavour on it. I think I hyped him up a bit there's some wicked beats on there, I love the way it's come out."

"The producers of the Austin Powers sequel approached us as soon as they heard it so it's on the soundtrack now. I'll have had two singles under my belt after this and I'm working towards my own album now. "I've already written three new songs for it, one's a sort of acousticy Des'ree type number for Phoenix. I met up with Jam & Lewis and Teddy Riley on the Spice Girls US tour to lay the ground for my album. I explained I didn't want the album to be too classic R&B, too smooth because that's not me. I want it to be more underground than commercial. I'm not sure how it's going to turn out but it'll have a bit of edge to it. It is going to have to wait for Melanie C's album and some new Spice Girls music which we're scheduled to work on in August."

"I enjoy the challenge of working alone, it frees me creatively but that doesn't mean I don't want to work with the Spice Girls any more. None of us will ever leave the other, we need each other, we love each other, it's just nice to have some space."

When asked about her album and Mel C's album possibly at war with each other on the charts:

"There's no competition there, Mel's a rock chick you know, this is me. We all have our own sides, same as Geri. I saw her documentary and I thought it was all right. I thought good on her, it was good she expressed herself, she showed a different side to her. It's not true that we wanted her to leave though, it was her own decision. There's mutual respect between all of us."

Young Fan Passes Away

Sophie Speakman, a six year old fan of the Spice Girls has lost her war with cancer. Emma Bunton has honored the young fan by opening a garden in her memory at Sophie's school in north London. A time capsule about Sophie was burried in the garden. The ceremony was kept secret at the request of the family. Bunton met Sophie at a Spice Girls concert last September and was touched by her bravery.

Melanie G recently had a talk with dotmusic and had the following to say about her first solo album:

Persistant Girl

A 10 year old girl from Preston named Karla Millward is determined to be a guest at David & Victoria's wedding. She is coming to the end of her seven month effort to try to get into the wedding. The girl's first attempt was sending a simple letter to the couple politely asking for a fan invite to the wedding. She of course got no reply, so she and her mother made a 250 mile trip to London to deliver a letter to British Prime Minister Tony Blair asking him to help her. The girl has even sent a picture of herself praying to David Beckham to show how much she wants to go. This past week she camped outside of Manchester United's training grounds to get an answer from David Beckham himself, but police told her and her mother to move on. The mother and daughter were ready to spend the night if necessary. Karla has written to Sir Bobby Charlton asking him to "have a word in Beckham's ear." Karla says: "I'm desperate to be there when they marry. I've already got a dress for the wedding." Her mother says: "She only wants to be at the railings or the back of the church."

"David and I have recently become Patrons of the Meningitis Research Foundation. They plan to launch the 'befree' appeal some time in May when we will be handing over a scooter to Hale and Pace, who are also patrons, which will then be auctioned off to raise funds.

The ultimate goal is to raise as much money as possible in a bid to beat the disease and we are offering our full support!"

"Just come back off holiday in Lanzarote with Jimmy and Phoenix. In May I'll be doing some solo recording before promoting my new single 'Word Up' which is due to be released on 21st June and will be on the Soundtrack for the new Austin Powers movie which comes out in August.

I also attended Capital FM's 'Help a London Child Awards' on March 31st. Jimmy and Phoenix came too and picked up the award for London's Best Concert. My acceptance speech was along the lines of 'I'd like to say on behalf of all the Spice Girls who are not here, we hope that the children of today get a better upbringing because of all this brilliant work!"

Geri Documentary

Today on Channel 4(UK) there was a 90 minute documentary on Geri Halliwell called "Geri: The Girl Can't Help It". Halliwell asked Molly Dineen to film the documentary about her new life only 2 weeks after leaving the Spice Girls. In the documentary Geri talks about much of her past including a little bit about her break away from the Spice Girls saying that one particular member of the band wanted her out. The documentary shows a lonely, self-obsessed Geri Halliwell that often cries in the weeks after she left the Spice Girls.

Nick Awards

On May 1st Melanie C made an appearance at the Nick Choice Awards. She had a very short interview session which reveals a lot, mainly that the next Spice Girls album will be indeed released in Spring of 2000, and that her solo album will be titled "Northern Star". Pregnancy Awareness

Victoria has started a project called "Pregnancy Awareness For Women". She has asked Virgin Records to distribute a picture of her when she was pregnant to promote the project. Victoria plans to discuss the joys and problems of child birth in magazine and television interviews. A friend of Victoria has said:
"She found childbirth the most emotional moment of herlife." as a reson for this project.

MelC Says..

Melanie C has made some comments about the Spice Girls and future plans in a recent LA interview revealing:

"After Geri left the group, and Victoria and Melanie announced pregnancies and marriage plans, it was a worry of mine that the group would be finished. However, Victoria and Melanie have been adamant that they're going on. We all love the Spice Girls so much, it's not time to call it a day. Not yet. Not when the fans, who've been so loyal, still expect something from us."

She also made some comments on the new Spice Babies:

"The babies are so gorgeous! Having them around has made us even closer. Emma and I are like the aunties. Melanie is sure the infants will be along for Spice Girls tours, too. Their mothers wouldn't want to leave them! We'll have a backstage creche. It will be lovely, though not very rock 'n' roll."

From South To North

Victoria was recently interviewed by Manchester radio station Piccadilly Key 103 and made some comments about her transition to life in Northern England:

"I love living up north and I even eat mushypeas now."

She also commented on rumors that she is homesick and wants to move back to London saying:

"It really upsets me because I am really happy up here. I have got somegreat friends and it's a great place to bring up Brooklyn. I've got alovely home and we're going to be here for ages."
