[Emma singing] Oh hokey, cokey, cokey.

No......no.

Oh it's probably an English thing.

Is it sort of like the hokey pokey?

Yeah, that's it.

So is it the hokey dokey or the hokey pokey?

It's the hokey pokey.

You don't even know the words.

[Emma and Kyle laugh. Kyle imitates a drunken Emma singing the hokey pokey, Emma joins in].

You've got enough words to remember anyway, how many songs are you doing, do you know yet?

I'm doing five songs.

Unbelievable, excellent stuff.

From the album and obviously the singles so I'm hoping everyone will sing along.

It's going to be huge. Melbourne Rumba kicks off tomorrow, here in Melbourne, Sydney next Saturday, it's gonna be huge. Now I can't go past explaining to you, you've heard in the UK about my argument with Geri Halliwell?

Right..

So I just wanted to say I don't know how you girls get on or anything but I'm just putting it out there, I'm going to be very nice to all the artists that are in our country...

[Emma laughs]

I don't want anyone else pulling out, I don't want anyone saying "I don't like the fat, hairy guy, I'm going home!".

[Emma Laughs] No, we're all here to stay.

Excellent, excellent stuff. Stick around, we've got Emma Bunton co-hosting the hot30, we're going to be talking to Jackie O live on the red carpet at the AFI awards. I've got to play you a little song, cause Geri won't be coming I've re-worked her song. I just want you to let me know, what you think of it, we'll get into it here at the hot 30.

[Kyle plays his version of himself impersonating Geri, singing 'It's Raining Men'. It's hardly flattering towards Geri.]

To welcome her here to the country, lets take our first call, Kira. Hi, how ya doing?

Hey Emma, I just have to say this, g'day mate!

[Emma laughs] Hi Kirra!

We don't really talk like that.

How are you darling? Are you coming to the show?

No..

Why not?

Well, I'm only 11 and I couldn't really afford the ticket.

Well you could have been out washing cars or selling biscuits you know.

The tickets are like $300!!

What show are you talking about, they're hardly anything!

The Rumba.

They're not $300, maybe to an 11 year old they seem like $300.

Ok, I apologise.

Would you like to ask Emma anything?

How do you feel about Geri pulling out of Rumba?

Um.. I think.. I'm not absolutely sure why, but I think it's just a shame cause I would not miss it for the world. I'm so pleased to be here, it was a long journey but I'm having a great time.

Twenty two hours in a plane.

Yeah, 22 hours but I'm here now and I'm absolutely ecstatic, I can't wait for the show.

There's commitment. Thank you so much Kirra. Grace is on the phone.

Hhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiii!

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Graaaaccccceeee!

Welcome to Australia, it's great to have you here.

Oh, thank you sweet heart. It's lovely to hear from you, are you excited?

Yeah. Oh my god, I've never talked to anyone popular, except Kyle and Jackie O.

[Emma laughs]

We're not that popular though. Have you got anything you want to ask Emma?

Yes, what's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you on tour?

Well, I think one of the worst things was I actually fell over at one of the MTV awards and it was awful in front of thousands and thousands of people and I had a little skirt on so I'm sure they saw my knickers.

Lucky you had some on.

I know.

It could have been much, much worse.

So that was the most embarrassing part.

So did the curtain open and they go "Ladies and gentlemen.. Emma Bunton!" and you just fell over?

No.. well I was in the middle of the dance routine.

Oh no.

It was very scary and horrible.

Is that the kind of thing were you just go home and think "Oh that's it, my careers over"?

Yep, I actually walked off the stage and cried. [Laughs]

Ohh, you poor thing! We'll take one more call. Hi Shaz.

Hey Emma.

Hi Shaz.

Welcome to Oz.

Thank you so much, I'm so excited to be here.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

Thank you so much.

I was wondering if you could satisfy my curiosity...

Ohhhh..

..and tell me the one thing you want to do here in Oz?

Oh, do you know what, there is a lot of things. I'm quite a big shopper and I've heard there are some great designers so I'd like to go and have a shop. I want to go eat lots of sea food cause its not very good at home.

It's all old and frozen.

It is. Yeah, so shop, eat, just have a look around. I've got my band here, so I think we're going to go out on Sunday and have a walk around.

Excellent, thank you very much.

Thanks for calling!

If you want to have a chat with Emma, ring now, we'll play some more songs now, Lisa Left Eye Lopes with Block Party.

I like this.

[Plays song]

We're going to take a few more calls, people desperate to say hi, Welcome you to the country, isn't that nice?

It's lovely.

We're good people here you know.

[Laughs] Are you?

--The above part of the interview was transcribed by Nicole--

We're not really as dumb as other countries think that we are.

[Emma Laughs]

'Cos everyone thinks that we just live in a big desert and just walk around with cowboy hats on, that couldn't be further from the truth.

No! People don't think that!

Don't they?

No, not at all!

The American's do. The American's think that of us.

Oh, really?

They go, "I thought we would have seen kangaroos just walking around the street."

[Emma Laughs]

No, we are civilized here. Let's take a few more calls. Natalie, hi. Meet Emma Bunton.

Oh my God! Hey...

Hi Natalie!

I'm so excited to say 'Hi' to Emma.

Oh, it's lovely to speak to you. How are you?

Good, how are you?

I'm very good, thank you.

I so can't wait 'til Rumba.

Yeahhh! We're getting ready to Rumba!

Yeah, um... so I just have a question. What was the best thing about recording your new album?

[Gasp] Oooh, well I think the best thing about it was that I was just able to write about everything that I wanted. I wanted to write a track for my girlfriends, a track for my Mum. Just everything was from the heart, really. And also, it's for all the girls out there because I write a lot about emotions and things that we all go through so that was...

Girl Power.

Girl Power, that's what it was about. Definitely.

Cool, thanks.

Thanks Nat.

Thank you sweet heart.

Can't wait to see you there.

See you there, darling!

I'm ready to Rumba!

[Kyle and Emma Laugh]

Ohhh.

Alyse, how ya doin'?

Hey guys!

Hiiii!

Hello Emma!

Hi Alyse.

Oh, I can't believe I'm speaking to you!

[Emma Laughs]

When you used to be one of the Spice Girls I was like the biggest fan!

[Gasps] Oh, brilliant!

Yeah, um... welcome to Australia.

Thank you.

Everybody's glad you're here.

I know, I'm so excited. Bit nervous but very, very excited about tomorrow.

Yep, um... I was just wondering who you're looking forward to meet at Rumba.

[talking rapidly] Oooh, well there's lots! I mean I've been lucky enough.. I've... I've met Nelly Furtado and I've met um... uhh... who else is there?

Craig David?

Craig David, I've met Craig David. So I would like to meet some of the Australian... um... bands. I think that would be quite interesting.

That'll be excellent for you.

There might be some handsome men in there.

Yeah, there are. Don't worry about that.

[Emma Laughs]

Oh, well what? Name one good looking, handsome man that sings in this country.

Ahh.. Selwyn.

Oh.

Ahh, see? She got you there. [Emma Laughs]

Ok, there's.... we'll give you twenty bucks.

I'll be looking out for him.

Well done Alyse, thanks very much for that.

That's ok, Byeee!

See you Alyse. Byeeee!

Ok, look one more thing before you go Em'. We gotta um... draw a major prize here, we've been running a competition over the show for the last couple of weeks. Someone's gonna win the chance to be the roving reporter at Rumba.

[Emma Gasps]

We're just gonna dial 'em up now. The winner. We've been giving people the chance to dance on stage.

Oh, right...

Yeah, and we'll um... we'll surprise her in a second.

[Gasps] Ok.

Just hang on one minute, we'll just dial up.

[Phone Rings]

Hello? [Answers phone hysterically]

Hello, is that Marianna?

Yes, it is! [Still hysterical]

Hi, it's Emma Bunton here! You've won the Rumba competition!

[Marianna squeals with excitement. Emma and Kyle laugh]

Oh my God, I think I'm gonna cry!

Are you excited?

Yes!

You're gonna be the roving reporter. D'ya reckon you've got what it takes to wander around at Rumba...

Yes!

...with a camera crew, just sort of popping in on all the super stars to see how they're goin' behind stage?

Oh my God!

[Laughs] That's gonna be fantastic!

Oh my God!

Ok, this is the deal. You're the roving reporter for the Hot 30.com and Rumba TV. You'll have the chance to report on everything you see, live on camera...

Oh my God.

...we'll video the whole thing for ya, package it up towards the end of the night and we're gonna play it back on the big screens in front of 40 or 50 thousand odd people so they can see how much of a great TV producer you actually are.

[Squealing] Oh my God!

Also... also you'll win your own Packard Bell PC computer and Intel webcam. That's yours. You... you own it.

Oh my God.

Well done! [claps]

Thank you so much!

If you keep balling like that you're gonna have to ruin your mascara and reaply. You realise that, don't ya?

[Marianna and Emma Laugh]

We are gonna see you at Rumba, video camera in hand my little girl.

Yahhh! Oh my God!

I will see you tomorrow.

Oh!

[Kyle Laughs]

It's all thanks to Paul Mac's new single "The Sound of Breaking Up" and Packard Bell featuring Intel Pentium 4 Processor.

[Both Emma and Kyle take a huge gasp]

Take a breath!

Next...

[Emma Laughs]

We're going to go and ah... cross down to the red carpet at the AFI awards. All the super stars are in town.

Ooooh, they're all here today, aren't they?

Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, they're all struttin' their stuff and now we're gonna see what Jackie's [she's the co-host alongside Kyle] little take of it on there... um is down there. She's all dressed up in a nice little... in a glitzy little frock.

Oooh, lovely!

Yeah, very nice! She never dresses up like that to come into this show.

[Emma Laughs]

Always tracksuit pants and thongs. Flip Flops you call 'em, don't you? Flip Flops.

We do, Flip Flops.

Emma thanks very much for joining us. We'll see you tomorrow. The Melbourne Rumba...

Thank you so much for having me!

And then, ah the following Saturday in Sydney. You're gonna be here for a while.

Absolutely, I'm gonna be here for a long time.

Enjoy the country. Lovely to meet you, we'll see you soon.

Thank you! See you soon. Byeeee!
