WE HAVE MADE HISTORY AND NOTHING WILL CHANGE THAT

The Spices have returned stronger than ever with "Holler", which has broken historical records and put them up with the greatest musical icons of all time. In this intervew, they talk of their latest album, the Internet, videos, concerts, and many other things.

How you feel when returning to be again together as Spice Girls?

Victoria: The truth is that it is very amusing, because each one of us has had the opportunity to develop our own projects, and now we have returned to reunite as a group. For that reason, we have many things to tell each other, and it's brilliant to be able to enjoy both things, a solo carrer and also of the experience of being a member of a group. It has been very, very, very enjoyable.

Mel C: Everybody asks us what it feels like to be back together again. The truth is that we were never separated. Although the public has not seen us working together, we have been working together very much, as much in the studio as in a bunch of meetings. On the other hand, it's brilliant to return and sing together. That, after all, is the most attractive part of our work.

Why you think that this is the best time to release the third Spice Girls album?

Victoria: We have spent enough time occupying ourselves with our solo projects. We all had the desire to record a new album, and felt that this was the most suitable moment to make reality out of those desires. On the other hand, two of us we have been mothers, each of has concentrated more on our own lives.

Mel C: I think that this is something we were already thinking about doing while we were still on tour together, even when Victoria and Melanie were pregnant. We always knew we wanted to continue on as a group. And this album has come together, exactly like we thought it would.

What is the meaning of the title "Forever"?

Emma: People always say that we are going to break up, time and time again, but we've decided to stay together for a long time.

Mel B: People forget that aside from friends also we are also companions. With Spice Girls we share the same work, we share the same business, we are partners, we advise each other on what we should do, and always learn from each other. All this has a lot to do with who we are, on the personnel level and the professional, these aspects are complemented constantly.

Emma: And also we are friends. That is one of the most important things, the fact of being friends. Although we haven't recorded a new album together in a long time, that does not mean that we do not continue being the Spice Girls and that we don't feel well together.

Mel C: It's a title that has many connotations, but the one that I like the most is this: It's possible that within some years the Spice Girls no longer exist, but nothing or nobody will be able to erase what we have obtained, what we have done. We have made history, and nobody can change that. Our memory will surpass the passage of time, and that way we will always be together. Even when we do not attend meetings, when we do not make music together, the Spice Girls will always exist.

What do you think of music on the Internet?

Mel B: The truth is that I don't know too much about music on the Internet but I know that there are bunch people who are unhappy because there are other people downloading their music and that yes that is something bad... But, I dom't know, to be honest, I don't know enough to comment.

Emma: I am not a great fan of the Internet.

Do you make videos because you have to or you really enjoy recording them?

Mel B: Vidoes are fun to me. You have catering, there's time to sleep, we get to act... And all the directors who we chose are very good. We have a work program where they give their input and we give ours. So our videos are fantastic and always amuse us...

Emma: Yes, we are very involved, we help with the clothes, we have time to be together and to see what everyone is doing... The only negative thing is that we have to get up very early in the morning when shooting videos!

What is the difference between "Forever", and your previous two albums?

Mel B: This one is more mature, more adult, and more vocally mature. The album is still very spicey. We are very proud of our first two albums as well as this one.

Do you enjoy performing concerts?

Emma: Definitely. We did a world tour and had great fun.

Mel B: We have never cancelled a concert, not even one...

Emma: No, never. It is the best sensation in the world to be up and people are singing along to your songs, mimicing your dance movies, it's the best thing in the world.

Mel B: It's the best experience, when comparing it with all that we do You can sit here, and do interviews all day and have fun, but it doesn't copare to the sensation of being on stage.
