Saturday 31th January
Speedy sell-out for Spice Girls

Tickets for two Spice Girl concerts in the Irish Republic were sold out today within two hours of the shows being announced live on radio.
The concerts times and dates were confirmed on RTE radio and the 12,000 available tickets that went on sale at the same time had been snapped up by the end of the two hour show.
Telephone lines to the 70 ticket outlets in Ireland were jammed for hours afterwards. A promoter said "We have never seen anything like it. The dates were only confirmed at Midnight last night".

Style cut for Posh

New life, new hairstyle seems to be the motto for recently engaged Victoria Adams (Posh Spice) after she replaced her trademark bob with a fashionable crop for the group's latest video. Geri, Mel C, Mel B and Emma have now come up with the name Skinhead Spice after Victoria showed off the hairstyle on the set of the Spice Girls new single Stop which is due for release in March. A Spokesperson for the group said "She is really happy with it, as is David.

Friday 30th January
SPICE WORLD CD rises in the US

SPICE WORLD: CD has shot back up the US charts to #3. It seems that all TV shows and visits the girls made over the last two weeks has again put the Spice Girls in everyone minds. As one of our ABSOLUTE SPICE US reporters said "it is about time US fans got off there bums and support the girls". Lets now hope it will get to number one and knock off the soundtrack to the film Titanic. The first album SPICE has also climbed from #19 to #11 in the US Charts.

Thursday 29th January
Too Much is never enough - Part 2

US fans will be getting yet another Spice Girls 1-hour special. This will be a sequal to "Too Much Is Never Enough" show which was aired last year. It will again be hosted by, Brandy, and will contain scenes from "SPICE WORLD: The Movie", plus video clips from concerts. Also for the first time US fans will get a chance to see the video of "Who Do You Think You Are" which is expected for release in the US in next few months!. This will the same video that was launched in the UK early in 1997. This special show will be on UPN on February 3rd, at 6pm EST.

Thursday 29th January
Spice Girls honoured in L.A.

The Spice Girls made a clean sweep of the 25th annual American Music Awards, winning in all three of their categories. But the British pop sensations were too busy rehearsing in Dublin for their world tour to attend the ceremony Monday night in Los Angeles. They sent a recorded video message. The Spice Girls won for favorite band, favorite album ("Spice") and favorite new artist in the pop/rock category. They also led a long list of artists who did not attend the ceremony. Other winners who did not turn up included Frank Sinatra, who received the non-competitive Award of Merit, Celine Dion, Elton John, Mariah Carey and British rockers Bush.

Tuesday 27th January
"Too Much" released in the US

We can now confirm that the long awaited single "Too Much" is available in all good US music stores. Thats not all as US fans can now also get there hands on the official Instanbul Video tape and the SPICE WORLD movie book is also available. What a shame US fans have had to wait so long.

Spice Girls get top spot

The Spice Girls have just got first place in Mexico in a Discostore (the most important here) because they sold more than the other foreign band, and the most amazing thing is that in Mexico there is a economical crisis, however the CD's are very expensive, (the Spice Girls album is the most expensive), but people just keep on buying.

Monday 26th January
2 Become 1

ABSOLUTE SPICE can bring you up todate with more news about Victorias wedding plans. The ceremony will take place in the Spring of 1999 in May. Not 1998 that most sources believed. Victoria told press "I am the happiest girl in the world. I am with the man I know I'm going to grow old and wrinkly with."

Victoria revealed that all her fellow Spice Girls want to be bridesmaids at the wedding. She said they were thrilled when she told them the news several weeks ago in Australia and said that this is all they have talked about over the last few weeks.

Well this answers the question that Victoria will be able to find the time to carry on with the rest of the girls. Congratulations Victoria, ABSOLUTE SPICE wish you all the best.

Sunday 25th January
Spice up your Wife

Even though Posh Spice claimed that she had no plans to marry on Horizon, ABSOLUTE SPICE can reveal that this must be a small Horizon. Victoria (Posh Spice) will marry David Beckham on Saturday May 9th Chelmsford, Essex, UK. The Other Spice Girls are said to be Bridesmaids and David's football (soccer) teammates will be guard of honour at the reported £50,000 wedding.

Both Spice Girl and Football fans are expected to swamp to the area in order to get a look at the two.

Saturday 24th January
Mean Spices

The Spice Girls have been branded Mean Spices in the US after they failed to tip staff at a top fetish club. The Girls also got involved in a bust-up at a New York Night Club when a doorman made them pay £3.00 ($5.00 US) each to get in. They claimed that they should not have to pay because they were famous.

Friday 23rd January
Spice Girls say No Wedding Plans

Mel B and Victoria Adams have told Newspaper "US Today" that there is no wedding plans on the Horizon. Mel B said that she is very pleased with her boyfriend, but they have not got engaged. Victoria Adams (Posh Spice) also told the reporter that she was not engaged either and that she could not see a ring on her finger. We will keep you all informed on any developments.

News from New Zealand

Too much was no# 9 in the New Zealand charts last week. Spice World was thet no#3 album for this month. And Spice World the movie was at no#3 at the kiwi box office.

Tuesday 20th January
The Spice Girls New manager is......

Well after a serveral reports and ABSOLUTE SPICE making a few emails to contacts we can finally reveal that the Spice Girls will manage themselves and there careers. A statement from one of our sources confirmed that the girls have decided to manage themselves because they could not find anyone who was up to the job and could not promote the girls in the right fashion. We will have to see if this will work, but either way it sounds like the girls are ready to be around for a while yet.

Happy Birthday

Tomorrow is Emma Bunton's (Baby Spice) Birthday. All members of ABSOLUTE SPICE would like to wish Emma a Happy Birthday, may your day be great. "Spice up your Life"

"Too Much" keeps on falling

Well it seems that nothing can keep the single "Too Much" from falling down the UK Charts. It has now dropped out of the top 10 to #14 from it #9 postion last week.

New unofficial video warning

A New unofficial Spice Girl video is about the be released across most parts of the world. The UK's BBC "Short Change" programme which is value for money show is giving out warning that this is a complete waste of time. We have to agree from clips that we have seen. Priced at £14.99 in the UK this tape is nothing but a collection of poor quality TV interviews with the girls and bits of video tape from the Spice Girls past. Everything on this tape would be known by any Spice Girl fan and would not be a wise buy. Instead only buy official products, this way you can be sure that you getting your moneys worth. Together we can clamp down on rubbish unofficial Spice Girl products.

Saturday 17th January
Mel C falls ill

The Spice Girls have had to cancel there promotion show of the Spice World in Canada after Mel C fell ill. Doctors believe that Mel has got food poisoning. Even though it sounds bad Mel is OK, but it is a bit of a set back for the girls in Canada. However the Girls promise they will be back and hope this will be very soon.

Friday 16th January
Spice Girls could take part in charity event

The famous Opera Singer, Luchiano Pararoti, said he wished to work with the spice girls in his birth city Modana, Italy. The reason is that he planning to make a charity concert for kids that are ill from the effects of modern warfare. This concert will be like the concert that is already taking place in Italy - with U.2 and Erik Clapton. Pararoti added that he asked the Spice Girls to do it - because he thinks that there isn't even 1 kid in the world the dosen't like the Spice Girls.

Thursday 15th January
Spice Girls hit the US

The next two weeks see the Spice Girl making serveral appearances on US TV. There is a few interesting events to do with MTV which will puzzle many why MTV is refusing to play "Too Much" (See Wednesday 7th for news of this).

Wednesday 14th January
Spice Girls visit Canada

The Spice Girls will be making an appearance on Monday when they will be at the HMV Records store which is in Yonge St. Reports say that the girls will be at the store for an hour and the local police are expecting a massive crowd of fans which could be near the 5,000 mark.

Tuesday 13th January
Spice get Brit award

Just like last year the Spice Girls have been nominated for a Brit Award. This year they have been nominated for best video for the single "Spice up your Life". The Awards take place on Febuary 19th so we will have to cross our figures.

Monday 12th January
Mel B set to get married

It has been revealed that Mel B is set to marry Icelantic Boyfriend Fjolnir Thorgeirsson later this year. Fjolnir asked her to marry him in London a couple of weeks ago before spending a short break in Tahiti before starting a trip around Australia which the girls are currently on.

The question must be asked will this second marriage see the complete split of the Spice Girls or will it bring them more closer together as two group members will be married. Who will be next? Send us your views to Back Chat.

Thursday 8th January
PM turns down Spice Girl invitation

Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, turned down an invitation to meet the Spice Girls.  The PM's office informed the Spice Girls manager that a meeting would be 'unappropriate'.  The Prime Minister is currently holidaying in Hawksnest and wouldn't be cutting it short to rub shoulders with the girls. 

Dispite this, the Victorian (state) Premiere will be meeting the girls in Melbourne in Planet Hollywood.  He is cutting short his holiday to spend some time with the girls.  The reason ...... (quote)'I don't want to have a demarkation about this  but.......... Posh Spice's real name is Victoria.'    He also defended the Prime Minister's decision and quote 'he should be entitled to his opinion and not have the remarks which were made today'.

Wednesday 7th January
MTV US refuses to play "Too Much"

Too Much is still AWOL in the US singles racks, with no explanation. It's looking as if Too Much might not be released, but there is a somewhat weird controversy with it. According to representatives from MTV US, the reason that Too Much, which debuted on 2 December, hasn't been played much (its rate is reported as being three times a week, and considering that's not even a nightly basis, that's not good) is because MTV has been getting too many complaints about Spice Girls on their channel, and it is not being balanced by even remotely close amounts of requests for the Spice Girls. This is also reported to be the reason why Spice Up Your Life was never heavy rotation listed when it came out. This story was originally reported as a rumour on the Internet, but I found it very interesting and very credible, so I went to my own phone sources who confirmed that decision on the part of MTV, and added on that MTV feels that the Spice Girls are going out of style and, like they did with NKotB and similar bands, they are closing them out of programming in order to keep up with the times. One of them cited telephone requests and gave me a comparison: she said that in one hour on a Monday afternoon, Oasis's All Around the World video was requested by telephone 47 times, which is a very good rating. Too Much wasn't requested once in the same hour. She said that some of the email they've gotten about the Spice Girls has been very nasty, and they really are trying harder to reflect what their viewers come out and say they want, and at the moment, no Spice fans are making an attempt!

This is a major news story IMO, because MTV can make or break them; it's no coincidence that Spice World has had disappointing US sales now that MTV has all but blackballed them.

I hope you have read the above as ABSOLUTE SPICE is going to change MTV minds. We want ever Spice Girl member to voice there feelings at MTV and get Too Much played as much as possible. Spice Girls listen to Grammys from behind closed doors

The Spice Girls were shut out of Grammy nominations, which were announced on Tuesday morning. The Grammys are the most important music awards in the United States, and are considered to have credence in many other countries. Big nominees included Paula Cole, Babyface, Hanson, and Radiohead.

Tuesday 6th January
Ticket go on sale in Sydney

SPICE WORLD movie has almost arrived for Spice Girl fans in Sydney. Tickets have just gone on sale for the premiere of the movie which is on the 9th of January. Only 1000 tickets are available for the premiere but special competition winners have got VIP tickets. Also if you want to see the Spice Girls then pop down to Pitt Street in Sydney City Centre on January 10th where the girls will be making a appearence.

Tuesday 6th January
Is It "Too Much" for Posh Spice

We it seems that the news that we did not want to hear might have finally happened. MTV news have said that Victoria Adams (Posh Spice) wants to retire from the Spice Girls when she marrys David Beckham later this year. This may be just a rumour, but MTV claim this news has already been backed by the UK press. Read the report for yourselves by clicking the link above.

The Spice Girls have just been given the award for the best band of 1997 from one of the leading Radio station in Israel.

Monday 5th January
SPICE WORLD tickets sell in half hour

Tickets for the premiere of SPICE WORLD movie where snapped up in half an hour in Melbourne. Thousands of fans queued for hours and some through the night to get hold of the 700 available tickets. All proceeds from the 700 tickets will go to a Charity who collects money to help find a cure for Cancer.

"Too Much" drops in UK charts

After two weeks at the top in the UK charts "Too Much" has dropped to Number 3. Even though the single continues to sell well in stores UK wide it was topped by All Saints at 2 (another UK female group) and by Perfect Day (Various Artists - Charity single) at Number 1.

SPICE WORLD movie hits top spot in the UK

The Spice Girls first ever film SPICE WORLD has gone into the Number One spot in the UK in just one week seeing off the new James Bond film. The film which has already had it's fair share of bad critics reviews is also contining to do well for a second week.

Album SPICE Number One

The Spice Girls first album SPICE has been voted the best selling album of 1997 by Billboard. The album beat off some great music artist such as No Doubt who's album came in second place.

Friday 2nd January
The Spice Girls get interview with VOGUE

The Spice Girls are the main feature of the January 98 Issue of Vogue Magazine. The Interview refers the girls to the Village People and goes into the girls lives claiming that the girls are nothing more than Bimbos and that off stage and from the Media eyes they fight like hell. This makes for interesting reading. Vogue is now available at all good Newsagents.

Thurday 1st January
Victoria and David confirm Wedding plans

We have been asked alot of rumours about Victoria and David planning to wed. Well we can finally annouce all the information we have. We first had confirmed information about to two getting married 5 weeks ago when we got information from a close source to the girls. Victoria is set to marry David after the Spice Girl world tour and the football (Soccer) World Cup in France this year. They are planning to marry in the UK, but this has yet to be 100% confirmed. Victoria told Press last week in Germany that she was also happy to have a baby. More News when we get it.

Good news from Italy!

Yet another good piece of news for the Spice Girls, but this time from Italy. The SPICE WORLD album has just gone Triple Platinum selling over 300,000 copies in just the first 2 weeks and still climbing.

Monday 29th December
Present time for one Spice Girl

There is alot of our Spice Girl sites on the net claiming that the Spice Girls did not have time to buy Christmas presents for ther friends etc. However ABSOLUTE SPICE can reveal that this not the case at all. Posh Spice (Victoria) has brought David two presents this year. First of all she got him a puppy to keep him company, but also she got him a golden Bracelet worth £40,000 (UK Sterling). However Victoria was not left out because David also got her a golden cross with Diamonds worth £45,000 (UK Sterling) and also she got a puppy. The two have already been together holding hands and walking there pups.

"Too Much" continues to do well in the UK

The Spice Girls new single "Too Much" has continued to do well in UK with a second week at the top of the charts. The single sold a further 352,000 copies this week and pushed total copies sold towards the 750,000 mark.

SPICE Girls get two songs in the end of year charts.

The Spice girls have finished on a high note for 1997 in the UK with two of there fours Number One songs getting into the top 30 songs of the year. The first is "Mama / WDYTYA" which came in at 21. The Second is "Spice Up your Life" which came in at number 8. This news is really great as the quality of songs this year in the UK has been very high.

SPICE WORLD the movie gets mixed reviews

Well the SPICE WORLD movie has finally been released across most parts of Europe to large lines of fans. However the reviews from fans is mixed. Everyone we asked here in the UK agreed that movie was not the worst movie they had ever scene, but alot said they the film had a great chance of doing well, but seemed to have something missing. Again the critics have given mixed reviews with some claiming that the girls should keep to the music industry. Having said all this we here at ABSOLUTE SPICE have seen the movie and we think that it well worth a look. It full of lots of really funny moments which the girls act out really well. We give the movie 7½ out of 10.

SPICE WORLD the movie

ABSOLUTE SPICE would like to remind every Spice Girl fan in the UK that SPICE WORLD is released for public viewing on December 26th. SPICE WORLD has started showing is some parts of the world, but if your part of the world has not yet had the pleasure of seeing the movie don't worry as the film will be opening in most parts of the globe over the next 4 weeks.

Monday 22nd December
Spice Girls visit Australia

If you are a Spice Girl fan who lives in Australia then you are in for a real treat in early January. The Spice Girls will be in Sydney on January 8th for the premiere of the SPICE WORLD movie and then the girls move onto Melbourne from January 11th to 13th. There is rumours that the Spice Girls will visit the "Highpoint" shopping complex in Melbourne where the girls will be opening a new Cinema and each will introduce SPICE WORLD the movie at a different screen. Also they will be doing a mini concert for lucky fans of Yarra River.

Spice Girls get Christmas Number One

The Spice Girls have done it again and have broke all the records in the book. The Spice girls went straight into Number One in the UK charts with the single "Too Much" which has given them the Christmas Number One for a second year. However thats not all because this single is the 6th Number One in a row in the UK. Every single the Spice Girls have released has been a number one. Speaking earlier on the UK Pepsi Chart show the girls said they were over the moon and wanted to say a great big thank you to all the fans who have stood by them over the last few months. ABSOLUTE SPICE would also like to say well done to the Spice Girls and also well done to every person in the UK who supported the girls. Now come on the rest of the world, lets get the same result.

Friday 19th December
Spice Girls and Virgin Records get sued

A Music Artist from California, USA has decided to sue the Spice Girls and Virgin Records over the name "Spice". She claims that two years ago she decided to use to word "Spyce" as her own artist name. However we would just like to point out that even though the Spice Girls have only been releasing singles for 18 months, they were already getting ready for 12 months before that. This adds up to longer than two years. As of yet we have not heard what Virgin Records have to say on this subject, but we don't expect them to be worried.

Thursday 18th December
Istanbul Concert showing at a TV Screen near you

They have released the video of the concert in instabul last week in most parts of the world which included the whole event and backstage interviews. However if you felt that the video was a little expensive then there is other ways the see the full event much cheaper. In the UK on Christmas Day on ITV (Channel 3) you can see the full Istanbul concert for free. In the USA the full concert is available as a pay per view event on January 17th. However the lucky people in Australia and Canada have already had the event screened for free.

Thursday 18th December
Press cause trouble for SPICE WORLD premiere in Spain

It seems that the Press and Media in Spain are still on the Spice Girls backs after the recent booing. This time the press decided to cause trouble for the girls at the release of the SPICE WORLD movie by booing yet again and chanting that the media and Press in Spain will finish of the girls for good. We feel very strongly here at ABSOLUTE SPICE that what has happened in Spain over the last few weeks is very sad. We hope that the Spanish are not like this general. "Too Much" leading in mid week charts

It looks like the girls are well on there way to get the Christmas Number One in the UK for the second time in a row. The single "Too Much" is currently leading the pack in sales to gain the title. Come on folks lets get the girls to Number One in every country world-wide. If you are not brought a copy of "Too Much" then go out down to your local store and pick one up. This single is not one to be missed.

Monday 15th December
SPICE WORLD movie Premiere

Well it has finally arrived the movie "SPICE WORLD". The movie got it's first showing tonight in front of a packed crowd of guests including Prince William and Harry who are very big fans of the girls. The critics said that the film would be a complete flop and would finish off the girls for good, but now they are claiming that it not that bad. Infact it's worth anyone going to see it. It true to say that it proberly will not win any awards, but we here at ABSOLUTE SPICE have already got our seats booked for the release in the UK on Boxing Day. If you live in Holland you can see the Spice Girls on Wednesday 17th when the SPICE WORLD movie is first revealed.

Sunday 14th December
Too Much enters UK Charts

It does not seem that long since "Spice up your Life" was released, but the Spice Girls have decided to have a go at the Number One spot for Christmas not only in the UK, but in a few countries world-wide. Even though Too Much is not released in the UK until tomorrow, it has already gone into the UK charts at Number 27 on just radio air play. This song stands are real great chance of going into Number One and it seems that the UK betting agents agree with a number of them now refusing people to place money on the girls. Lets get the Spice Girls to Number One. Go and buy a copy of "Too Much"!

Too Much delay in the US

We have today got information from our US News Team that the single "Too Much" has been delay for release. As of yet we don't have any News why this has happened, but as normal we will place the information on our site as soon as we hear.

Get your videos now

If you a Spice Girl fan who wants videos of your favorite group then get your hands on the new Spice Girl video live from Istanbul. This video contains the whole live event with all the songs and even special backstage interviews with the girls. We have looked around and the cheapest places you can get it from in the UK is W H Smith and Woolworths priced at £12.99. The video is also available in Germany for (DM 34.95), Holland for (FL39.95) and in Australia for $29.95. We are trying to find out if this is video is going to be available else where in the World. "Too Much" release date

Well christmas has finally come around again. The question which is on everyones minds is what will be the christmas number one song. Well the Spice Girls should be in the running with the excellent song "Too Much". Many people have questioned why the Spice Girls released "Spice up your Life" as the first song of the new album because this is much better, and to be honest is really is. Anyway "Too Much" has already been released in the US and Canada, but is released in the UK and a number of european countries on Monday 15th. Lets make our favorite pop group number one in every country.

Spice Girls win more awards at Billboard

The Spice Girls have yet again won more awards as they continue to break into the US market. The Girls won a billboard award for the best album with "SPICE" and they also won a award for the best new artist of 1997.

A New manager?

It has been revealed to ABSOLUTE SPICE that Sharon Osborne, wife of heavy metal star Ozzy Osborne will be considered as the Spice Girls New Manager according to a Virgin Records spokesperson. The Spice Girls confirmed two weeks ago that they wanted there new manager to be female, of which this news confirms the girls intensions.

New PR man confirms rumours

The Spice Girls new PR Manger confirmed today that Spice Girls did have plans of splitting when they got rid of ex manager Simon Fuller, however he confirmed that this was now out of the question and the girls were again closer than ever.

Spice Dolls go on sale

Most fans will not know this but the Spice Girls Dolls are now available on general sale in a number of countries which include the UK, USA, Canada, Spain, France, and Germany. However they are in limited numbers and some stores and shops will not be selling them or will not want to sell them just yet, but they are out there if you can track them down. They are on sale at £16.99 (UK Pounds) each and we are told that they are on sale for no more than $13.00 each in the US.

Spice Girl announce another single

The Spice have confirmed that the track "STOP" from the "Spice World" album will be the next track to be released after "Too Much" which comes out before christmas. The New track which is a great little piece is expected to come out in March 1998, but this is yet to be 100% confirmed. This News really is good to hear and also should silence the Critics and Press who thing they plan to split.

Spice Girls receive Smash Hits Award.

The Spice Girls received one award at this years Smash Hits awards. The Spice Girls were voted Best British Act, however the album SPICE got 3rd place in the Best album of 1997. However it was not all good news for the girls at this years Smash Hits, because the single "Spice up your Life" was voted the worst single of 1997 and Geri was voted worst dressed female singer. The show was dominated by US groups such as Hanson and Back Street Boys which picked up most of the awards. The Spice Girls will be back next year to kick there buts. Watch Out!

An Audience with the Spice Girls

The Spice Girls had a Special 1 Hour show tonight called "An Audience with the Spice Girls" which was a show when people could ask question to the girls and also involved them performing a few of their tracks. The Audience had to be women and girls only, however 5 male Comedy and TV stars called Jonathan Ross, Brian Conley, Dale Winton, Richard Madeley and Howard Anthony who the Spice Girls get to dress in drag attempted to bring the house down.

Thursday 27th November
Spice Girls hit the US

The first week in December is going to be busy for the Spice Girls in the US. On December 2nd the Spice Girls will appear on the UPN Television Network for a special one hour show. On the 5th December they will be appearing on "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and on the 8th they will be performing on the billboard music awards. It not all over?

The Spice Girls yesterday told fans and press that the Girls will not be spliting up, but that they are closer than ever after sacking ex manager Simon Fuller. The Girls also explained that Geri (Ginger Spice) will not be manager for the Girls, but infact they were in talks with a mangement team.

It looks like it's all over

Reports and Rumours are coming from Rome, Italy that the girls have decided to break up. It all started yesterday morning when Baby Spice went missing only to be found to be with Simon Fuller. When the rest of the girls found this to be the case, they had a major bust-up. We have also been told that Geri is considering an offer to present her own show, Mel B, Mel C and Emma are understood to be discussing solo careers, and Victoria is reportedly to be retiring to spend more time with David Beckham. On Tuesday, the girls are in Paris to promote their film and also could be when they announce their split. We hope what we are hearing is not true and that that girls settle their disputes.

Posh Spice set to marry!

Well after a long period of waiting to see if the news was true, it has finally been confirmed that Posh is set to marry David Beckham (Man Utd and England Football / Soccer Star) after the Football / Soccer World Cup in France in 1998. The news was accidentally brought out my Victoria Adams mum when she was talking to a friend.

Spice Girls are booed!

Girl Power backfired on the Spice Girls last night when they were booed off stage after holding up a Spanish award ceremony in a dispute over photographers. The Spice Girls kept the audience waiting for several minutes after they refused to go on stage at the last moment until all photographers left the National Palace Concert hall in Barcelona. The girls did eventually appear on stage to a less than enthusiastic reception from the impatient crowd. At the end of their performance an embarrassed floor manager was left frantically trying to whip up some applause, but the audience only booed. The Spanish have always been big followers of the Spice Girls, but maybe they have taken girl power too far.

Future Still uncertain?

Again today is has been revealed that the future of the Spice Girls could be in doubt. It has now been revealed that Emma (Baby Spice) has got a personal relationship with ex Spice Girl manager Simon Fuller who she wants to remain close with. However this news is causing problems for the rest of the girls who voted to split away from Simon Fuller and look for other management. We now will have to wait for the outcome, but one thing for sure the next few weeks are going to be very testing for the Spice Girls

Album sales lower than expected

The new album "Spice World" which started selling last Monday has sold a total of 195,000 copies in it's first week. However this figure has proved to be much lower than was expected and is well off targets set by the first album "Spice". A total of 1½ million copies of "Spice World" had been shipped for sales, but fans have not yet bothered. If you have not yet brought a copy of the new album then don't wait. The new album contains some great tracks.

Another Manager?

After sacking Manager Simon Fuller on Wednesday it has now been revealed that the girls have personally approached "First Avenue Management" to manage them. First Avenue Management already manage stars such as Louise, Eternal and Dina Carroll. However Simon Fuller will recieve £10 million pay-off for his sacking and also recieve royalties until the year 2001. It also has become clear that the reason for the sacking was because the girls have become fed up with the punishing work timetable he dictated and the strict regulations he imposed on their private lives.

Spice Girls sack manager!

It has been revealed in a shock move that the Spice Girls have sacked there manager Simon Fuller from 19 Management. Simon Fuller found out that he had been sacked during the MTV awards when the Spice Girls arranged for the news to be broken to him. The whole thing has said to be masterminded by Geri. The Spice Girls have said that the want to manage themselves, however the girls success has come from the hard work of Simon Fuller. Rumours already going around is that he was sacked because the new single "Spice Up Your Life" has not been promoted like past singles which has caused the new single to fall early down the UK and other countries charts. This news could be the make or break of the girls. More News when we get it.

Spice Girls set to release Christmas Song

The Spice Girls are planing to release there new song "Too Much" as there song for Christmas. The single will go on sale on December 8th in the UK and a number of European countries. However there is questions being asked that is this single being released early because of poor "Spice up your Life" sales.

The Spice Girls have received MTV award for "Best Group". The Spice Girls are over the moon, Mel C said "We can't believe we have won this award and beaten groups such as Oasis, we are over our heads with Joy".

The Spice Girls meet Nelson Mandella last night for the first time. He said that he has been a big fan of the girls for a while and wanted to thank them for making so many peoples lives in South Africa and around the world happy from listening to the girls music.

Could it be all over?

Well it has been reported today that it could be all over for the Spice Girls by March next year. This news follows reports that came out last week saying that the girls were getting ready to break up some time early next year. Music critics have also confirmed this by saying that they have also heard this news, but Posh Spice will continue as a solo singer. If this is to be the case then we may only hear a couple of songs from the second album. More news when we get it.

The Spice Girls continue there world promotion of the new single Spice up your Life with a visit to Johannesburg, South Africa this weekend. However this time they will be performing not just for the public, but to Prince Harry who flew out to see them on Tuesday.

It official, two thirds of the U.K. public have had enough of the Spice Girls. In a recent poll in the UK national press the public expressed that all the TV commercials and marketing for a number of well known UK brands were putting them off the girls, even die hard fans were now having enough. The thing what most people are forgetting is that the girls know that they will not be around forever so they are doing everything they can now to secure there futures.

Barbie Doll sees off the Spice Girls

It's not good news for Spice Girl fans in the UK, the new single "Spice Up your Life" has been knocked off Number One in just one week. As many music experts predicted Barbie Doll has gone into the top spot. However Barbie Doll only sold 9,200 more copies than the Spice Girls, but Spice Girls fans only brought 185,000 copies of "Spice up your Life" this week which is some 160,000 less copies than last week.

The Spice Girls continue there tour of Promoting there new single "Spice up your Life" with a visit to India. However there is not much news to report as we have all heard it before in Istanbul, Turkey. If you did not know, then it went down very well, but this time the Indian Critics did not complain.

Sugar and Chocolate?

The lastest brand to snap up the Spice Girls is the UK largest Chocolate maker, Cadbury's. Up to the run up to Christmas and into to the new year they will be making Spice Girl chocolate bars. The Milk Chocolate bars will come with imprints of each of the five babes along with different wrapper designs. That not all because on offer up to Christmas are specially packaged variety packs which will have a selection of chocolates chosen by the Spice Girls. There will be fudge for Baby Spice, truffle for Posh Spice, Nougat for Scary Spice, hazel delight for Ginger Spice and caramel for Sporty Spice.

Spice Girls launch Poppy Appeal

The Spice Girls will launch this years Poppy Appeal and they want Britain's youth to join them in wearing the famous Remembrance Day symbol with pride. The girls will launch the appeal on October 29th, however details of the launch venue are being kept under wraps for security reasons. So join the Spice Girls on November 11th.

The records just keep on breaking

Well the Spice Girls have done it again. The new single "Spice up your Life" has gone straight into Number ONE in the UK with just one weeks worth of sales, selling a massive 325,000 copies. That makes five Number One's in a row and a record which is only matched by the beatles, however no UK group has ever had there first five singles as number ones.

What a load of Bull!

Well it seems that the Spice Girls first ever Live Performance has not gone down well with the Turkish Press and media. Since the event on Sunday 12th October the critics in Turkey have called the girls everthing apart from good. There has even been claims that the girl still did not sing live! It is obvious that while critics around the world hailed the show a success the Turks just can't handle how good the Spice Girls really, really are.

Thursday 16th October

It looks like to Spice Girls will be at number one again this weekend in the UK. Mid week sales has put them way ahead of the rest selling a massive 161,585 copies of "Spice up your Life" since monday, selling 3 times as many as second place Elton John.

Wednesday 15th October

ABSOLUTE SPICE would like to remind all Spice Girl fans that the new album "Spice World" is to released in the UK on Monday November 3rd. Our advice is to get your copies ordered in advance from your favorite music stores. Make the Spice Girls number one again.

Tuesday 14th October

Geri is complaining that she does not have enough up front. No! we are not talking about her going under the knife, but about the Geri Spice Doll. Geri says that the doll does not have enough up front and that she is alot more forward than that doll makes out.

Monday 13th October

The first Spice Girls live performance in Istanbul, Turkey is a complete success. They sang a collection of there songs from the first album aswell as some from the NEW second album"Spice World". This performance has now put alot of peoples minds at rest who said they could not sing live. Infact some people have said that they sang live better than people ever thought

Saturday 11th October

There has been a change in the plans for the live event in Istanbul. The live concert was going to take place at the local football (Soccer) ground where 40,000 fans could watch in comfort, but the football (Soccer) team only remembered that they had a game at home just 2 days before the concert was to take place. The owners of the club said that the event could go ahead if every Spice Girl fan came in trainers or no shoes at all. So now the event has been moved to a nearby indoor centre (Center) which only holds 20,000 fans.

Friday 10th October

This weekend is said by many to be the make or break of the Spice Girls. The girls will perform Live for the first time for the public in Istanbul, Turkey. As yet they have only performed with tapes which many say has helped them to the fame they have got, however almost all groups use this approach these days. However we have heard several tapes of the girls singing live and they have been fine every time. ABSOLUTE SPICE wishes the girls the best of luck, let the world rock again with Spice Girl fever.

Geri has confirmed that her name is not really Geri Halliwell but infact it is Geri Shövik. This name comes from her swedish background, but took the name halliwell because it was easier for people to remember.

Monday 6th October

The makers of the Spice Girl dolls have decided that they will make the doll of Mel B with her mouth shut. They decided that this was the best approach because they thought kids would get scared if her mouth was open. Mel B is said to be a bit unhappy about the decision.

As ABSOLUTE SPICE reported back on August 6th the new album will be called "Spice World". The release date of the new album has now been confirmed as Monday November 3rd in the UK and November 4th in the USA and Canada. The new album will have 10 Songs as we expected. Wednesday 1st October

It has been confirmed by a spokesperson for the Spice Girls that each one of the girls will be singing a song solo on the new Album (released in November). It is believed that this is to prove that each one of the girls can sing. We now know that there will be at least six songs on the new album, how many more has yet to be confirmed, but we expect that there will be about the same amount as there was with the first album. We can't wait.

The NEW Spice Girl single "Spice up your life" will be out on Monday October 13th in the UK and October 21st in the USA and Canada.

Saturday 27th September

Spice Girl's new album will be released in mid November. "Spice up your Life" will be the first song on the new album. As yet we have not heard about any other songs on the album, but with the girls spending alot of there time in the USA we don't expect to see as many songs as we have over the last year.

A spokesperson from Virgin has confirmed that the Spice Girls for at least the next year will be living in the USA. The reason behind this is the girls will be doing alot of filming there for new the album, film and future singles. However ABSOLUTE SPICE feel that really the girls could do all this here in the UK. Wednesday 10th September

New Spice Girl Song held back. According to a Virgin Spokesperson the reason for the delay is that they would like to see Elton John get to number one in aid of Princess Diana. Our first impressions of "Spice up your Life" is that it might be too different from previous songs, however it is a very catchy tune which does have alot going for it. As for another number one, we will just have to wait and see.

Wednesday 27th August

The Spice Girls have sold there name again. This time it is for a range of body sprays called SPICE. These sprays to be made by impulse will come in a range of different fragrances. They will go on sale within the next few weeks.

The Spice Girl Movie is confirmed to be released on Boxing Day this year.

The Spice Girls have decided the name of there new Album. It is to be called Spice World. This is also the same name as the new Spice Girl movie. There is no firm dates of the release of either, but as soon as we hear we will spread the word.
