Gulzar Filed Papers To Keep Phoenix From Going On Tour
TMZ has found legal documents regarding a custody battle between Mel B and her first husband, Jimmy Gulzar. Jimmy didn't want his visitation times with his 9 year old daughter Phoenix Chi to change, while Mel B wanted to take her on the Spice Girls tour with her. The judge ruled in favor of Mel, who is Phoenix's custodial parent, denying Gulzar's attempt to block her from traveling.

Here is a local copy of the legal document.

Finally all caught up on news!

Victoria's Stuff Stolen Backstage
Thieves broke into Victoria's dressing room while the Spice Girls were performing their concert in Cologne, Germany. They stole 2 pairs of shoes worth $11,500 each, designer outfits (including a personalized red satin robe by Roberto Cavalli with "Mrs. Beckham" stitched on the front and "Posh" on the back), Spice Girls costumes, and jewelry. A source says:
"Victoria's post-show high was ruined when she noticed stuff had been nicked. All the other girls' dressing rooms were untouched, but somebody had clearly been rifling through Victoria's possessions. She was very upset. Fashion means everything to her. She keeps all her old outfits in storage."

Victoria on Madrid, Manchester & a lost Spice bracelet

Hello,

I’m writing this on the plane on the way home from Madrid – I can’t believe it was our last show of 2007, the time is going by so fast. It was great to return to Madrid having lived there for so long. I had the chance to say hello to some friends before the show, which is always nice.

We’re having so much fun on tour. I know it sounds like a cliché but it really is the truth. I think for me, the highlight so far was Tuesday night at The O2 Arena in London and having our kids on stage with us during Mama. I’ve said it lots of times before but my boys really are the reason that I am doing this and to have them up there with me was a very proud moment.

Talking of the show on Tuesday, Mel B lost her bracelet as it flew off in to the audience and we want to say a big thank you to David who picked it up and contacted our management company to tell us that he had it. We’re grateful to him for being so honest and we’ll be meeting up with him before one of our shows in January to say thank him in person.

Roberto Cavalli came along to a couple of the shows in London. He has worked so hard on our amazing costumes so it’s great for him to see us up there performing in them.

We have a little break now and then we'll be back at The O2 Arena in the new year before heading up to Manchester, where there is always a fantastic atmosphere so we’re excited about that. On a personal note, I'm really looking forward to performing in Manchester as we lived there for quite a while and I really love it.

I'm really looking forward to Christmas, to spending time with David, the boys and my family. We are taking the boys to see Father Christmas and they are so excited!

We're about to land so I have to go now but thank you all so much for your support. I hope that you all have a lovely Christmas and we’ll see you in January!

Lots of love

Victoria

Mel B Takes $20,000 For Charity Appearance...
Melanie B has taken a check for $20,000 for her appearance last week at Selfridges (Story), which was actually on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Mel sang "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and "Jingle Bells" at the sing-a-long, after which she went around with a donation bucket to collect money for the charity, along with Martine McCutcheon and model Jasmine Guinness. A store insider says:
"All Mel B did was sing a couple of Christmas songs, sign autographs and mingle with the crowd collecting donations in a plastic bucket. And for that she pocketed £10,000 that should have gone to needy kids. Many people felt she should have waived her fee. It's the least she could have done to help raise cash for the kids. Everyone was thrilled when Mel B agreed to appear. With the Spice Girls in town for their tour it was a real coup to get her. It's shameful shoppers gave up their hard-earned cash yet here was a Spice Girl giving nothing."
As news of this has surfaced, Mel B's British spokeswoman says that the money from Mel's appearance, which was sent to her US showbiz agents (International Creative Management) in two payments, will be donated to children's hospitals in the United States, and that the check is already in the mail.

Victoria has upset the rest of the girls by in advance booking the entire row B of seats at the girls' London concert(s) for her family and friends, forcing the other girls to get seats for their family and friends further back. A source tells England's The Sun newspaper:

"Victoria got in first and made sure her nearest and dearest would have the best seats in the house to see the Spice comeback. She booked up a whole row just for her family so they had the best view of the stage. The girls' jaws dropped when they found out they had been beaten to the punch by Victoria."

Victoria On Personal Life
Victoria Beckham has been interviewed by Look magazine (UK), where she speaks mostly of her personal life and relationship with her husband, David Beckham. Victoria says:
"It's hard being married to someone like David. He's incredibly good looking. But I'm proud of the way he looks and I'm flattered when people find him attractive. Me and David have been together for 10 years now. When I first met him I didn't just meet someone I fell in love with. I met my soulmate. And I respect everything David does and he respects and loves everything I do. He's a very loyal man and he's a fantastic husband. Everything we do revolves around our children. He's really romantic. He's a Taurean and most Taureans are very romantic. I'm so lucky."
Regarding the media:
"I don't read the tabloids. I'm pretty unaware of what they're saying. In Britain they're quite obsessed with celebrity, possibly it's slightly more negative than America. But I don't really have any interest."
On not smiling in photographs:
"I don't know why. I think it's just the way I look. I know I look very miserable and I do have to try and smile more. Which is ironic, really, because I really like to have a laugh. I have quite a dry sense of humor."
..and about her rumored pregnancy (Story):
"I'm not pregnant. I keep getting asked that, but I'm not. Hopefully I'll have more children at some point. I'd love a girl, but at the moment I want to enjoy the kids I've got. I've got three boys who keep me busy!"

I'd love to be a mother. At my age, the clock is ticking, so I don't want to leave it that long. I do lots of live shows and festivals, which is a lifestyle that won't suit having a child. I think I need to seriously consider taking a bit of time out for that."

"Geri worked so hard to prepare for the tour. The fans mean so much to her and she is scared about letting them down if she were to get ill. She wants to perform to the best of her ability every night. She's very aware that even the slightest hint of a cold could keep her from performing and she has been obsessively saying to people, 'Don't let me get ill'. Spice Girls Argue Backstage
-= Rumor Warning =- -= Spoiler Warning =-

The Spice Girls had a big argument backstage after their first London show this past weekend. The argument centered around Victoria. She had gotten the biggest crowd reaction, yet had the least amount of lines/work to do on stage, wore the highest heels, towering above the other girls, and did not wear her boxing jacket hood like the rest of the girls during "If U Can't Dance". A source says:

"All of these silly petty things just got on the nerves of the other girls. And to top it off when Victoria kept getting the loudest applause and cheers, it really grated on the others. The fact Posh probably had the least to do but was getting the best reception was a bit disheartening. It all blew up backstage afterwards and there were some very stern words and evil looks exchanged."

A Spice Girls spokesman denied the fight, saying:

"All of the others were thrilled by the response Victoria got from the crowd."

Alright you lot!

Wow, it's been a mental few days! Sorry this is late, I've been living it up in Vegas – haha.

We had a lot of fun in Vancouver and the US but its great to be back in England – even if it is bloody freezing!

Thanks to all of you that showed up to welcome us at Heathrow on Thursday after we flew home on Spice One, its so cool that we have a plane named in our honour!

Emma is doing well. She's been having treatment from David Beckham's doctor and has been resting since we arrived home.

We can't wait to get on stage at the O2. We've been looking forward to this show since we announced the dates in June... we are going to rock it!!

I'll be at Selfridges on Monday night (6pm) for a Christmas sing-along, so I'm sure I'll see some of you nutters down there.

Love

Mel

O'REILLY: Victoria Beckham. I mean, please. Please! Who cares about that? Look at this woman. She's anorexic. She's got -- I'm not even going to say. Why? Why? Why? She's not even American.

WALTERS: Because -- well, she loves America you would be happy to know. Loves America, would like to live here. You'd Love her. She's just as crazy about America.

O'REILLY: I'd deport her.

WALTERS: The two of them, and we'll use them as two.

O'REILLY: OK. I can see why he's fascinating...he's a good actor.

WALTERS: Well, yes. But she's Posh Spice, and the Spice Girls are together again. And as a couple -- as a couple, they're an interesting couple.

O'REILLY: That's a reach. Boy, I'll tell you. Victoria Beckham.

WALTERS: No it's not. The paparazzi were all over the place...

O'REILLY: So what? All right. I'm sorry, I'm dissenting on that.

WALTERS: What have you assented with so far? Imus, you agree.

O'REILLY: I'm dissenting on that. All right.

WALTERS: OK. And we all agree that Bill Getty is a pinhead.

(CROSSTALK)

O'REILLY: Yes, there's no question about it. All right. So Victoria Beckham, I'm not buying that.

Tour Progress & Notes
It appears that the Spice Girls have ceased much of their lipsyncing after the first few concert dates.

At the Spice Girls' second Los Angeles show on Friday, Mel B & Geri swore up the lyrics of "Wannabe", staring the song with:

Mel B: "Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really fucking want."

Geri: "So tell me what you want, what you motherfucking want."

Mel B: "I'll tell you what I want, what I really fucking want."

Geri: "So tell me what you want, what you really really want."

Spice Girls Add Even More Tour Dates
The Spice Girls have added the following shows to their Return of the Spice Girls tour:

  • Montreal (Bell Centre, January 31st)
  • Detroit (Palace, February 16th)
  • Philadelphia (Wachovia Center, February 19th)
  • Washington DC (Verizon Wireless Arena, February 21st)
  • Toronto (Air Canada Centre, February 25th)
  • Atlantic City (Boardwalk Hall, February 29th)
  • The Montreal show is on the date that the Worcester, MA show was supposed to be, so Worcester must be getting rescheduled.
  • The Detroit show is on the date that the second Chicago show was scheduled, so looks like the second Chicago show might be canceled.
  • The Spice Girls now have 50 reunion shows! (perhaps 51 or 52 depending on the fate of Chicago 2 & Worcester) This is what was rumored back in July (Story).
Is it just me, or are they being sort of rude (the management) in continuing to add tour dates in the West but not giving any dates for all the other non-Euro/American cities that they announced half a year ago?

Over at the official Spice Girls website, they have a new contest where you can win Melanie C's socks.. that is, if you are able to answer a question, which is sort of a concert spoiler question, so don't do it if you want to go into the Spice Girls show a complete virgin.

Victoria On Cover Of Elle
Victoria is on the cover of the January issue of Elle magazine (US). There is a full interview/article with her inside, in which she talks about many things: On her sometimes troubled childhood:
"[Children] were literally picking things up out of the puddles and throwing them at me. And I just stood there, on my own. No one was with me. I didn't have any friends. People would push me around, say they were going to beat me up after school, chase me. It was miserable, my whole schooling, miserable. I tried to be friends with people, but I didn't fit in. So I kept myself to myself."
On her talents and personality:
"It became very obvious from the start that I was never going to be the best singer or the best dancer or the best actress. I was never a 'natural'. You know, I've never been that good at anything, to be completely honest. I work seven days a week. And I so love what I'm doing. I could go shopping all day, which is what a lot of people think that I do. That's their perception, that I'm a miserable bitch and go shopping all day and boss David about. I'm so camp! I'm such a gay man trying to get out. I don't give a fuck what anybody thinks!"
and about her relationship with her husband, and how she gave him her phone number on an airline ticket stub and how she's hot for him:
"I sleep naked. I'm going to be naked if I'm getting in bed with him every night. [It was] completely love at first sight. He told me he went home and wrote the number on so many other things in case he lost it. We drove around in his car and would sit in car parks and talk for hours and hours. We didn't need to go out for meals. We didn't need to go out for drinks. We just wanted to be together. We found the ticket the other day!"
Check out this page at Elle for more info and a behind the scenes video and pictures.

Thanks Rodney.

New Emma Spice Blog
Emma has made a new post over at the official Spice Blog:
05 December 2007
Emma's blog from the Spice Jet

Hi everyone,

I am sitting on the plane next to Mel B, enjoying a glass of red wine having just done our show in San Jose to an amazing crowd. I felt a little less nervous tonight than I did in Vancouver and I really let loose and had lots of fun.

With each show I'm getting more confident singing live but during Mama I got so carried away looking at the video playing behind us of all the mothers and babies that I forgot some of the lyrics!

Mel B also has a thing for pinching our bottoms... which makes us all giggle!

I know you don't get to see what's going on underneath the stage but our quick changes are mad, although we all help each other out.

We're truly having the best time of our lives and we feel so lucky to get the chance to do it again. We know some people have traveled far and wide to see us and we can't thank you enough. So, we'll make sure you have the best night.

See you at the next show!

Lots of love,

Emma

Ps Beau's favourite song is Wannabe.

The Spice Girls shared their feelings after their first performance together in 9 years (Story). Geri said:

Emma said:
"We all feel so lucky. We have been through amazing experiences and we looked at each other and said 'Guess what? We’re the Spice Girls!' And it's a fabulous thing. We love it."

Spice Camp Denies Lip-Synching
In response to the noticed and commented on lip-synching during the Spice Girls' first reunion concert in Vancouver, a spokesperson for the group lies and decides to deny reality by saying:

"All of the girls sang live. There is a click track for the band to keep them in time, which is standard, but all of the girls' vocals were live."
*cough* Spoiler Link: Mel C f-up at the end of SYBT (full song video) *cough*

Basically, we've learned by now that if it comes from the Spice Girls management or spokesperson, there's a good chance it's a bold-faced lie.

Emma said:
"We all feel so lucky. We have been through amazing experiences. We looked at each other yesterday and went, guess what? We're the Spice Girls, you know what I mean? It's a fabulous thing and we love it."

..which much of the media ran with as a somewhat serious statement, like fools.
