It's only been a fortnight since their glitzy arrival at LAX airport - but already the Beckhams seem to have settled into their new life in LA.

And what better way to get acquainted with your new hometown, than to drop a few thousand dollars in a shopping spree.

In what turned into a rather exhausting day out, the Beckhams, along with son Romeo, started off at pricey jewellers Gearys before moving on to Maxfield boutique, a favourite with celebrities such as the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley.

They finished their trip at department store Barneys .

Moneybags: Victoria makes it clear she wants money

Victoria, dressed in tight dark denim jeans from her signature DVB range, teamed with a vest embroidered with a phrase popularised by pal Tom Cruise's film 'Jerry McGuire' - 'Show me the money'.

Maybe it's in honour of Beckham's £125million football contract with LA team Galaxy, and Victoria's money-spinning return to the stage with the Spice Girls later this year.

The couple stopped off at the designer store, described by one website as "a boutique for women who favour fashion forwardness over victimisation" and were helped to their car with bags of clothing.

Gone shopping: The Beckhams stock up on the latest designer fashions at LA boutique Maxfields

Followed by the ever-present paparazzi, many who now exclusively cover the Beckham's comings and goings, David recently spoke of his fears the photographers will one day cause a deadly crash.

The 32-year-old spoke out after he and Victoria were treated to a lavish star-studded bash to welcome them to Los Angeles. The million-dollar party was organised by their movie star pals Tom Cruise and Will Smith, and featured 600 VIP guests.

The ever-present paparazzi pack: Following the Beckhams is now a daily routine for the LA photographers hungry for a picture

But newly-signed LA Galaxy star Becks is worried that all the attention he has been attracting since his arrival in the States could end in tragedy.

He said: "It's definitely over the top here in LA.

"In London, if we'd go out to dinner, there would be four or five cars following us.

"The other night we had 47. No joke. I get nervous. They run red lights and you're just waiting for accidents to happen."

LA insiders admit that the city's snappers are the most ferocious in the world and will literally fight for the right picture.

One told the Daily Star: "If Posh and Becks think they've had it bad in the past, they ain't seen nothing.

"Some paparazzi even do speed and coke to keep themselves going. They get so wired that they'll wrestle each other out of the way to get their shot."

Little Britain: David has his mother Sandra, sister Joanne and best friend Phil Neville over as the family settle into LA life

We are the champions: Beckham salutes his team following their 2-1 win in the SuperLiga cup

But the Beckhams haven't exactly left all things British behind. Seen later at Galaxy's football stadium, Beckham was joined by his mother Sandra, sister Joanne, and best friend Phil Neville to watch his team triumph in a 2-1 victory over Mexico's CF Pachuca.

Still struggling to shake off a lingering ankle injury, Beckham has been given time off to recover, but still turned up to support his new teammates.
