"Do you think so? I was a bit mad. It's never a bad thing to seem a bit scarey, though, is it? Maybe someone will come and kick my head in, but I'm working on me muscles at the moment!!!"

You performed SOLO at V99 for the first time!!! Was it hard???

"I feel comfortable on stage whether it's on my own or with the other girls. And I had my band with me as well! The most frightening thing was that I just didn't know what to expect. I didn't realise what I'd let myself in for!!!! Overall I was really pleased. I just loved it. I had the time of my life."

How did you come up with title of your debut album, are you the Northern Star?

"Well, it sounds a bit silly, but you know in life you're always looking for that one constant thing that is going to guide you? My vision of that is the North Star. It was just an image that I came up with. And on the flip side I'm from up North and some people say I'm a star. I'm not meaning to be 'oh, I'm the Northern star!!!'"

What will you do if your single doesn't go in at Number One?

"If it does go in at Number One I'll be over the moon, absolutely gobsmacked. If it's lower than twenty I'll be a bit gutted, to be honest with you!"

Any more tattoos or piercings planned?

"Well, it looks like I'm getting one a year doesn't it? The girls always say they're going to shout at me every time I get a new one but they do love them. No more planned just yet though. I've got a Phoenix on my back but the head needs fixing. It's gone a bit scabby. I'm not really into piercings. The only ones I've got are ordinary gun ones, I don't want to be skewered! I'm not a kebab!!!"
